Building on Freddie’s sermon from 1 Peter, the conversation explores holiness, the fear of the Lord, spiritual distraction, and the tension between God’s perfect standard and our inability to meet it on our own. The gospel reframes the struggle: we don’t become holy by simply trying harder. We become holy by clinging to Christ, trusting His finished work, and allowing His love to reshape what we want.

The conversation builds on this week’s sermon about holiness and the idea that God wants to change our identity before he changes our activity. We talk about idolatry as more than what we worship, but what we allow to shape us. Scripture points us toward a different identity: people made in the image of God and invited to reflect his love, goodness, and character in the world.
Along the way, Meghan shares what happened when her family decided to take a season away from kids’ sports, even when cultural pressure told them they were making the wrong choice. We talk about parenting, fear, shame, busyness, and the sneaky ways good things can become ultimate things.
