We use storytelling to inspire social cohesion and improve understanding of diverse communities. We cultivate stories that inspire thought, spark empathy and challenge intolerance, with a focus on empowering people whose experiences and perspectives are often marginalised.

Jaqueline Pelczar is a Polish, Austrian and Burgher Sri Lankan woman who reflects on her family history and her grandmother’s immigration story. She explores the intergenerational impacts of the White Australia Policy, white privilege and Sri Lanka’s history of colonisation.

First Stories is a Centre for Stories project amplifying First Nations truth and voices across Western Australia, while creating spaces for truth-telling and truth-listening within and between First Nations and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities.
