Roya a traduit du dari à l'anglais. Catherine de l'anglais au français. Récit polyphonique. Javid et sa femme, Farida, journaliste et professeure, attendent leur premier enfant, poursuivent des études sur internet et aimeraient apprendre le français. Roya, dix-sept ans étudie au lycée. Ils ont fuit l'Afghanistan à l'été 2021 et se construisent un avenir en France.

Bernard, en reportage, tu sais pas ce qu'il photographie et tout d'un coup, il te montre un gamin, à cinquante mètres. Il te dit : "Tu peux aller vois les parents, pour les autorisations de diffusion?". Tout de suite, il a trouvé le bon angle. Et la photo, tu sais qu'elle va être magnifique. Quand tu connais son histoire, ça prend une autre tournure.
