From the guy behind "Chad'z Beer Reviews" comes a podcast dedicated to discussing beer with BeerTubers, influencers, professional brewers, homebrewers, industry journalists/authors/pundits, etc. If you'd like to see the video version of this show, go to https://www.youtube.com/@ChadzBeerReviews
Welcome to a long-overdue Chad’z Beer Podcast. In this episode from around 2010/2011, I sit down with Joseph Emswiler, better known as Proper Hops TV. Joe was one of those BeerTubers that built a big following with daily craft beer reviews, sharp production values, and a real enthusiasm for the hobby. We talk about how he got into craft beer, his first memorable beers, keeping a spreadsheet of every beer he tried, and what goes into his tasting process.
We also get into his love of stouts, IPAs, and Belgian ales; the growing Washington, DC craft beer scene; food pairings; homebrewing; and building a BeerTube audience through YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. This is a fun little time capsule from the early days of craft beer YouTube. If you remember Proper Hops TV, or were part of the early BeerTube community, leave a comment and let us know!

James Knott of Better Beer Authority
One of my favorite BeerTubers from the early days was "Better Beer Authority." It was a roundtable show run by James Knott. He actually built a TV style studio in the basement of his house and produced a beer review show that would look like something you'd see on your local TV station.
I actually did a beer trade with him way back in the day. I always wanted to drive out to Ohio to guest on his show, but unfortunately it just never happened. Though we did get to at least record this podcast way back in 2012.

Northern Southerner Beer Reviews
It's been a LONG time since the last new episode of Chad'z Beer Podcast. I'm hoping to bring this back to a monthly show for 2026. And the first guest of the year is Jon Brown; better known as Northern Southerner Beer Reviews (just don't ask me why his handle is @brownale1000 (https://youtube.com/channel/UCuXb9xrorFl8CSctVo8gFeg) ha ha).
JB's been a regular on the BeerTube scene since 2015. He gets his name from the fact he's originally from England's southern coast but now lives in the northeast region. Not too far from Samuel Smith's Brewery. Speaking of which, check out our collab review of Taddy Porter here👉 https://youtu.be/WcS1qmBU6xU (https://youtu.be/WcS1qmBU6xU)
