Chain to Main News for Friday, August 7th

With your local Waupaca news for this Friday, August 7th, I'm Durant Popple. The library's exhibit room is opening tomorrow with a new display.  The display will showcase the Waupaca community arts board as part of their 20th anniversary celebration.  You can learn about its history and the important projects and initiatives it has brought to our community.  This display will be available for viewing through October 3rd.  The exhibit room is in the library's lower level and open the same time as the library.  More information on this and future exhibits can be found online at Waupaca library dot org. Also tomorrow at the library, the library's 4th annual renaissance faire.  Taking place on the library's front lawn between 9am and 4, many acts and activities will be present.  In addition to library staff, there will be groups from Gryphon Poursuivant siege encampment, Wisconsin River Ravens Viking camp, and the Wisconsin historical fencing association, along with the Waupaca historical society and the Waupaca arts hub.  This information can also be found on the library's website, Waupaca library dot org. The Wood-Portage-Waupaca county chapter of the Wisconsin farmers union is hosting a meet and greet with candidates running for state senate 19 and congressional district 8.  This is taking place tomorrow at 6:30pm at a WFU member farm located at N 66 93 county road K in Ogdensburg.  This is a non-partisan opportunity for informal conversation between the community and the candidates.  Discussion will be casual, with a focus on the issues that farmers and rural communities are facing. This event will take place outdoors. If weather is inclement, the event will be cancelled. All candidates have been invited, confirmed candidate attendees are Emily Tseffos, Mark Scheffler, Rick Crosson, and Katrina DeVille.  You can find this information also on the Wood Portage Waupaca county Farmers Union facebook page.
