As a Dauntless Media podcast, this is a companion to Scott's forthcoming book about losing faith while teaching at an evangelical university. This podcast will feature former students and faculty of Azusa Pacific University. They will tell stories of racism, sexism, hatred towards the LGBTQ community, and early alt-right shenanigans. Other guests outside of the APU world will also be invited to share their experiences. Join the growing Chapel Probation community on Instagram, Discord, and Facebook. Chapel Probation s5- Rev Alba Onofrio aka Rev Sex: Appalachian Purity Culture to Rev Sex at Soulforce
Soulforce (https://soulforce.org/) has been a big part of the stories coming out of Azusa Pacific University throughout this podcast. From the guests who attended the events on campus to the subsequent generations who banded together to start a movement, Soulforce is part of the DNA of Chapel Probation. So it was a thrill to be able to work with Rev Alba all year at Axis Mundi, producing Teologia Sin Verguenza (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/teolog%C3%ADa-sin-verg%C3%BCenza/id1839582950) and Love Letters on the main Soulforce Podcast (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/soulforce-queer-feminist-latinx-faith/id1842894784). And now the chance to spend time with Rev Alba to hear her story and bask in her badass wisdom is an incredible honor.

Chapel Probation s5- The Rise of MAGA at Azusa Pacific in the Early 2000's
As I prepare to go on vacation, I recap the rise of today's MAGA madness that we witnessed in the early 2000's. From the usual racism and acceptance of swastikas to the White-centric hypocrisy of marginalizing BIPOC traditions and centering White ones considered non-Christian.

Chapel Probation s5- Virginia Duan: The Mandarin Mama Does Not Abide White Supremacy and Patriarchy
Virginia Duan is the biggest BTS fan I've ever encountered. I do not understand this. But I also know she is one of the best and biggest baddasses I've ever met. Her story of overcoming fundamentalist christianity, a violent father, and racial discrimination is inspiring. It makes me want to keep fighting. And maybe listen to some BTS.
Check out her blog, The Mandarin Mama (https://mandarinmama.com/), and read her books, Illusive (https://www.amazon.com/Illusive-Virginia-Duan-ebook/dp/B0CXCT5YL6/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3OPRHOYEB911&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.9UpsPwKJubsFalBBbPa0y7Flo5l0jIY1VdnYkMdhpxLwOxhhc69g88hOF9HHVB1K.hfq4iQi4OYMWLpUopJ0qHer9WZlfDRrHXbsJ9U8xUsA&dib_tag=se&keywords=virginia+duan&qid=1761022455&sprefix=virginia+duan%2Caps%2C239&sr=8-1), and Weightless (https://www.amazon.com/Weightless-Steamy-Contemporary-Fiction-Multiverse-ebook/dp/B0DJBBNH64?ref_=ast_author_dp&th=1&psc=1), the first two of the Katie Wu multiverse.
