We Got Us: Building Unity Across Divides
<p>What does it really take to build unity across difference, across history, across pain?</p> <p>In this episode of We Got Us, we take you to Chicago's neighborhoods of North Lawndale and South Lawndale (Little Village). These neighborhoods have long been separated not just by a train track, but by decades of disinvestment, segregation, and misunderstanding.</p> <p>In 2020, in the midst of national unrest following the murder of George Floyd, local faith leaders made a different choice. Instead of retreating into their own corners, they stepped toward each other, starting what is now known as the One Lawndale movement.</p> <p>This season is titled, We Got Us: Stories of Faith, Justice and Collective Hope. It is an immersive journey that invites you to witness how neighbors and local leaders are answering a powerful question. How do we acknowledge brokenness and challenge oppression to cultivate and preserve communities so everyone can flourish? Together we'll explore how neighbors are confronting injustice, cultivating resilience, and creating communities where everyone can flourish. We Got Us: Feeding Hope in Hard Times
<p>When the COVID-19 pandemic hit Chicago's Little Village neighborhood, infection rates soared and thousands of people suddenly struggled to put food on the table. But young people from the neighborhood began showing up.
