Welcome! It is my pleasure to introduce "Chasing the Light," a podcast created to serve as my personal journal of faith, perseverance, and resilience after being born into darkness. Run alongside during my race against blindness as I embark on a promising and life-changing adventure from darkness to light! I will be sharing my thoughts, emotions, and accounts throughout a clinical treatment trial for my rare blinding inherited retinal disease, Lebers Congenital Amaurosis as I balance marriage, motherhood, and a career. I hope my story serves as an encouragement and inspires others as I share my strengths and struggles throughout my vision journey!

In this week's entry, I share my recent experiences with managing the stresses of life as a blind mom and wife. Specifically, I focus on the past two weeks of craziness which caused an eye-opening stress outbreak and several low vision related collisions. Additionally, my plan for stablishing a more balanced lifestyle along with strategies I am currently using to decrease the stresses of living with blindness. Listeners will have the opportunity to hear the vulnerabilities and daily struggles that I encounter while trying to navigate motherhood, marriage, and a career while living with a disability. As always, thank you all so much for supporting the CTL Podcast Journal!

Entry #99: Navigating General Healthcare with Blindness
In this week's entry, I share my experience from recent "routine" medical appointments while independently navigating with my mobility cane. Specifically, I share my process of preparation prior to the appointments, my approach to requesting assistance from medical staff, and my perspective of patient care during the procedures. Also, I am excited to include the link to a new mini documentary from Opus Genetics (sponsor of LCA5 clinical trial) which focuses on the origin story of the company.
