Igor Shesterkin Is OUT For the Season... What's Next For the Rangers?
The Nashville Predators have acquired Jayden Struble from the Montreal Canadiens, but the bigger news around the league is the wave of injuries to key players. Igor Shesterkin is officially out for the remainder of the season with a lower‑body injury, a massive blow to the New York Rangers’ hopes of staying near the top of the Metro. The Ottawa Senators were hit as well, losing William Eklund for an extended period after he suffered an ankle injury on Friday night.
Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Jets continue to surprise. They’re off to a strong start despite Connor Hellebuyck’s absence, which raises the question of whether the pressure is now shifting entirely onto him once he returns. On the other side of the spectrum, Evan Bouchard is on an unreal tear with 11 points in his first four games, and at this pace, the idea of him pushing toward the 100‑point mark isn’t far‑fetched.
