This one's heavy. We sit down to talk about grief and loss, not as an abstract topic but as something that's shaped both of us in very different ways. We get into the first time we each understood loss as permanent, how our family grieves by pushing forward instead of sitting still, what it means to grieve someone who's still alive, and the moments loss has exposed about which relationships were ever real to begin with. This conversation got emotional for both of us, and we didn't edit that out because it felt important to leave it in.
