Do Our Kids Really Need Team Sports: A Deep Dive | E62
Today we’re talking about a parenting question that sounds simple, but really isn’t: does your child actually need to play organized team sports? And more specifically, do they need to start young, join competitive teams, play year-round, travel every weekend, and structure the whole family schedule around it?Because somewhere along the way, kids playing sports became very different from what we grew up with. This is not an anti-sports episode. If your child loves soccer and your family loves spending weekends at tournaments, amazing. If baseball is the thing your whole family looks forward to every week, amazing. What we’re questioning is the idea that every family has to do it - or that if you don’t, somehow you’re failing your child. So today we’re talking about how we grew up, what surprised us about youth sports in America, what the research actually says, and where we’ve landed in our own families.Only on Chocolate & Spice Talk!#motherhood #mentalhealth #parentingtips #chocolate&spicetalk #parents 🔔 Subscribe to @chocolateandspicetalk for more deep conversations on life, growth, and unique perspectives.🌐 CONNECT WITH US• Visit our website: http://chocolateandspicetalk.com• Follow us on Instagram: @chocolateandspicetalkUntil next time—take care. Best Morning Routine: 2 Different Types | E61
Today we’re letting you into our mornings. Not the perfect Instagram version - what we actually do before the workday starts, what helps us feel good, and what sometimes makes our mornings a little chaotic. And what’s fun is that our mornings are completely different. One has Oura data, skincare, protein, family check-ins, breakfast, coffee outside, and a little bit of organized chaos. The other is slower - nature, quiet, and some space before the day begins. We’re talking about how morning routines change with work, kids, relationships, personality, and different stages of life. And also what we want to do better ourselves - like getting some workouts done earlier, checking our phones less, and realizing that not every part of the morning needs to be optimized. Because maybe the goal isn’t to fit ten healthy habits in before 8 AM. Maybe it’s just to build a morning that actually works for your life. How to Grow in Career & Life: With Mentors | E60
Today we’re talking about mentorship. We've been mentors to several people and have had incredible mentors at different stages of our lives. A mentor is someone who has already lived through experiences and has learned lessons you are yet to see or learn. So, a mentor is someone who can help you learn so you avoid repeating mistakes that you may otherwise do. At different stages of your life, you need different kinds of people in your corner. Sometimes you need someone who tells you what to do. Sometimes you need someone who teaches you how to think. And sometimes you need someone who walks into a room you’re not in and says, “I believe in her.” So today we’re going to talk about all three: the prescriptive mentor, the growth mentor, and the advocate. And hopefully, by the end, instead of asking yourself, “Do I have a mentor?” you’ll ask a much better question:How can I grow and learn with mentors?Only on Chocolate and Spice Talk.#career #growth #careeradvice #mentorship #chocolate&spicetalk🔔 Subscribe to @chocolateandspicetalk for more deep conversations on life, growth, and unique perspectives.🌐 CONNECT WITH US• Visit our website: http://chocolateandspicetalk.com• Follow us on Instagram: @chocolateandspicetalkUntil next time—take care.
