Christian Manifesto ~ Going National/International
This last Monday I posted the last article on the 18-part series: Christian Manifesto ~ God’s Civil Mandate. I don’t know of any Christian today that has specifically addressed this subject, yet there are far more verses in both the Old and New Testament addressing this subject than the subjects of baptism and the Lord’s Supper put together. In all the Bible God has ordained only three institutions: Family, Church, and State/Government. God did not institution any one of His institutions to be unholy nor to be led by non-Christians. The book of Genesis is written only in the context of the Family institution or family dynasties. From Acts to the end of the Bible it is primarily giving instructions regarding the Church, though it has quite a number of references on the Family and State institutions. All the rest of the Bible, the majority of the Bible (80%), gives instruction for the State/Government institution. The primary State addressed is Israel, however, ALL the prophets admonish Gentile nations to also honor and obey God and His Law. The book of Psalms alone has over 100 verses addressing all other nations in the world to also honor and obey God and His Law. God did NOT write 80% of His Word in the context and instruction of how State/Government should run to only all be ignored today! Remember, all God’s Law starts with the Ten Commandments. Read about the Apostle Paul to know about the church and what God’s people and spiritual leaders are to do today. But read about King David to know about State/Government and what God’s people and civil leaders are to do today. Don’t ever complain about our nation if you don’t ever take the time to read ONE book (the only one I know of) about how God mandates His civil Law for nations and His people to make Christian nations under His civil Law and Jesus honored as King of kings. If you’re convicted to read it before the book comes out here is where the series started - Christian Manifesto (https://jimmccotter.substack.com/p/christian-manifesto-gods-civil-mandate). Some who read all the 18-posted series, Christian Manifesto, are now wanting to pay to get it immediately published and marketed nationally and internationally. The publishers are now pushing me to get the print-read copy to them ASAP. Since I posted the last of the series this Monday, I’ve been on a time-crunch getting it ready for the publishers. I’ll see you after that … and soon as the Lord confirms what He wants me to focus on next. I’d love to hear any of your thoughts. 18: God’s Strategy For Civil Conquest 7 of 7 - CITY
With God’s Great Commission in both the Old and New Testament to advance His Kingdom, we see both instruction and example along with remarkable success when God’s people followed God’s - “city strategy.” New Testament Targeting Cities In the New Testament the Apostle Paul said he was “not overextending” in his mission to reach as far as the city of Corinth (2 Cor. 10:14): “For we are not overextending ourselves … to come even as far as you.” There is a principle of “not overextending” in targeting cities to conquer for the Kingdom of God. To overextend is counterproductive in accomplishing any mission, whatever that mission may be. In the New Testament Christians were to use a “sword” to conquer cities (Eph. 6:17): “Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one … and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” Of all God’s warfare equipment referenced in Ephesians 6, “the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God” was and is God’s ONLY weapon of offense for capturing cities for His Kingdom (2 Cor. 10:3-6): “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.” The New Testament Apostolic strategy was NOT to focus on rural areas, but we see they ONLY focused on towns and cities. Building God’s spiritual army in a town or city, the Word would then inevitably spread to all rural areas. In Acts 1:8, Jesus made it clear that His Apostles were to first focus on one city, the capital city Jerusalem. They focused on Jerusalem - “they filled all Jerusalem with their teaching” (Acts 5:28). They did this before they launched out to any other towns in their nation. But after this in Acts 8, it says the Christians “scattered throughout Judea and Samaria,” to all the other towns in their nation. Even then they did not overextend to other nations without first “preaching the good news about the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ” (Acts 8:12) in their nation for some time before extending out to any other nation. The Apostle Paul clearly had a strategic city strategy as all his letters were written back to major cities: Rome, Corinth, Ephesus, Philippi, Colossi, and Thessalonica. We see biblically and historically that all the Apostles and New Testament Christians focused on cities, one city at a time, eventually “turning the world upside down” (Acts 17:6). Throughout history, there have been many cities that have been Christianized for the Kingdom of God: having a critical mass of Christians sufficient to rise up and take over as civil rulers under King Jesus and God’s Law. This is fulfilling Jesus’s Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20): go disciple a city to discipling a nation, teaching the city/nation to obey all that Jesus commands. As Christian civil rulers, they are mandated to use the physical “sword” to then maintain God’s Law (Rom. 13:4): “For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servant, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.” Old Testament Targeting Cities God’s Great Commission for His people in the Old Testament was for them to physically conquer the nation of Canaan. They had to work, they had to attack, and God would help them when they did. The following is the only verse where God explains His strategy in taking over a whole nation - not to overextend but capture the nation “little by little” - one city at a time (Ex. 23:29-30): “I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild beasts multiply against you. Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and possess the land.” Joshua had an enormous army for that time - a 600,000-man army. Joshua could have thought, I’ll spread my army out along the whole western front and attack many towns at the same time, especially since the average population of Canaanite towns was under 10,000 including women and children. Joshua followed God’s strategy - “little by little” - one town at a time. The first town Joshua attacked was Jericho, with a population of only 3,000 people. Next, they went to the adjacent town of Ai, a town under 10,000 population. After that they continued slowly - attacking only one town at a time - Makkedah, then Libnah, then Lachish, then Eglon, then Hebron, then Debir, then the city of Hazor. Joshua was careful to follow God’s one city at a time strategy - “little by little” - until each town was fully conquered and controlled under God’s civil leaders and His civil Law. Joshua used the physical sword to conquer, and Paul used the “sword of the Spirit” to conquer. But they both focused on a city until they established God’s kingdom in that city - one city at a time. All Christian Cities Now All Secular Cities Originally in America, Christians established Christian towns with only Christians allowed to be the civil rulers pledging allegiance to the Bible - King Jesus and God’s Law. In 1788 the Federal Constitution was ratified eliminating the Christian religious test requirement for federal civil rulers. Previously non-Christians could live and be blessed living in the Christian towns, but they were not allowed to be civil rulers. Then gradually throughout the 19th century States began to ignore and then finally remove the Christian religious test out of their own State Constitutions and let non-Christians vote and be civil leaders. However, for years this did not make too much difference because there was such an overwhelmingly dominate Christian culture. But over the generations the unrighteous began to take advantage of the secular Federal and State Constitutions. And more amazing, over the 20th century secularists have brainwashed Christians in thinking it is only “right” to give equal representation for non-Christians, rejecters of Christ, to vote and be civil rulers! This is inevitable doom. From the time of Christ to the 19th century, Christians knew that was not biblical. They knew that was in direct violation to God and His civil Law. They viewed the New Testament epistles to be instructions for the church and God’s Law to be instructions for the nation. They knew 80% of the bible (Exodus up to Acts) was written in the context of God’s Law and instructing Israel and all other nations how to live under God and His Law. And this was NOT just for Israel, as over 100 verses in Psalms alone reference all “nations” and the “world” to honor God and His Law. If Christians don’t understand this today and understand it quickly, they will totally lose the nation that their Christian forefathers established. And for the foolish Christian who says all God’s moral Law is not to be all our city or national law for today, then the Ten Commandents (the preamble of God’s whole moral Law) are not for today. That leaves only man’s opinion for what is moral law for today. Therefore, Hitler could have just as much right to his legal opinion as that foolish Christian’s opinion, unless God’s Law is supreme. David said God’s Law is “forever” (Ps. 119:44, 89, 111, 152, 160). Jesus said God’s Law is “until heaven and earth pass away” (Matt. 5:17-19). Today, instead of every American city being a Christian city, every American city today is now a secular city and most even in open defilement of our King Jesus and His Law! What do we do? First, there must be a critical mass of Christians again that understand the bible emphatically declares for TODAY: * That Jesus has “all authority in heaven and on earth!” * That Jesus is “King of kings” and rules through His people. * That “God’s Law” is to be the only civil law. Second, since all our cities today are secular and most even in open defilement of our King Jesus, a critical mass of Christians in some city or hopefully even some small town would get God’s heart and vision to Christianize their town. Jesus said to disciple the nation (Matt. 28:19). But to disciple a nation it must be done with God’s “little by little” city-by-city strategy. Christians - unite, strategize, and mobilize to work at taking over one city of leadership for the Kingdom of God. Have wise Christians run for: * Mayor * City council (getting majority) * Chief of Police * City Attorney * School board (getting majority) Controlling even the first two positions a city could begin to be transformed for the Kingdom of God with wise, bold, and courageous Christians. Most cities or towns have more than enough Christians to accomplish this mission. In most towns if only 20% of the Christians worked wisely - and with God’s help - they could most definitely take over a city! And only one model Christian city or town today could unite a spark mobilizing Christians to take over one town after another across the land. The best religious zealot models we have today are the Leftist-controlling cities. They have zealously pursued taking over cities and defying federal laws for their new Leftist laws. They openly have over 200 “Sanctuary Cities” in America today transforming their cities to Leftist cities. Where is ONE openly Christian city today in America … defying immoral laws and putting in place God’s Laws? Sooner or later Christians may need to have their own city/enclave even for their own safety. God has said (Ezekiel 22:30): “I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land.” God says (Prov. 21:22): “The wise conquer the city of the strong.” This concludes my Christian Manifesto Series. I’m praying this moves a critical mass of Christians to take action in at least one city or town today. If you’ve personally been moved by this Series I’d love to hear from you. Jot me a note. Thanks.
