Different Functions of the Bible - NW || Spring 26 - Why the Bible?
📖 Different Functions of the Bible | Solid Ground God has given us a great heritage — our divine inheritance is the Word and the Spirit. Through them, we are led into the daily experience and enjoyment of Christ. The Bible is not just a book of knowledge. It functions in many living ways in our Christian life: • The Word gives us life • That life nourishes us and causes us to grow • It separates us from the world and saturates us with God Himself • It shines on us, showing us who we are, who God is, and what is on His heart • Finally, it becomes the sword within us to deal with the enemy To have a proper and solid experience of Christ, we need both the Word and the Spirit. These two can never be separated. Together, they make our experience of Christ real, practical, and living. How to Handle the Word of God - JS, JS || Spring 2026 - Why the Bible?
Through the Bible, God speaks and communicates to us. God speaks Bible. God desires to communicate Himself to man. His Word is living, powerful, and able to accomplish what it is after — to keep our ways pure and to transform us from within. But for the Word to profit us, something must happen on our side. “All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16) The Word is God’s breath. When we come to the Word, we are breathing God in and exhaling ourselves out. We must learn to interact with the Word in an organic way — not just reading for information, but coming to enjoy and even eat God. We chew on the Word to get to the Spirit, because the Spirit gives life. The Word is capable. The Spirit gives life. Our part is to exercise — to come with an open heart and receive. Let’s come to the Word not just to read — but to breathe, to eat, and to be transformed. The Building and the Bride - IE || Spring 26 - Why the Bible?
📖 The Divine Romance & The Corporate Building of God This week we are going deeper into what is on God’s heart — His desire. Throughout the entire Scripture, there is a clear, concise, coherent line. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reveals one central theme: the divine romance and the corporate building of God. There may be many stories, laws, and events that don’t seem related to the theme at first — but they form the background that helps us see the diamond, the gem of the Bible, more clearly. When we read the Word, we begin to realize that what we are reading can, should and will become our own experience, even our destiny. The Bible is not just a book of teachings. It is the book that brings the reader into the story. We are literally being brought into the story of God. So when we read the Scriptures with an open heart, we are not only brought into the experiences recorded there — we are brought into the destiny revealed there. As we take time to love the Lord and be built into His church, that destiny becomes our destiny. Reading our Bible is not a checklist. If our heart is open to the Lord, we begin to enter into the very thing God is doing on the earth today. Let’s enter into the story personally.
