Psalm 81: Praising God for His Faithfulness, Love and Protection
# Psalm 81: Praising God for His Faithfulness, Love and Protection | Bible Study PodcastWhat does Psalm 81 teach us about praising God, His character and our relationship with Him? In this episode, we explore this powerful psalm and discover a God who is faithful, loving, patient and worthy of our wholehearted praise.Psalm 81 begins with a call to sing for joy to God, raise our voices in worship and celebrate who He is. But as we journey through the psalm, we discover that praise is about more than singing songs or expressing gratitude. It is about remembering God's faithfulness, recognising His character and responding to His love with trust and obedience. We see God as our **Provider and Protector**, the One who hears our cries, delivers us from trouble and provides for our needs. He is the Father who longs for His children to walk closely with Him, experience His goodness and trust in His provision. As we reflect on His dealings with Israel, we are reminded of His faithfulness throughout history and His continued desire to care for His people.Yet Psalm 81 also contains a sobering warning. God speaks of His people's refusal to listen to Him and their determination to follow their own ways. We see the consequences of turning away from the One who loves us and discover the spiritual danger of living outside His will. A life separated from God's guidance and fellowship is a fearful prospect, and this psalm challenges us not to take His presence, protection and provision for granted. But even in His correction, we see the heart of a loving Father. God's words reveal His patience, His compassion and His longing for His people to return to Him. He does not delight in their disobedience or distance from Him. Instead, He calls them back, longing to bless them and satisfy them with what is good.**In this episode, we explore:*** **Praising God:** Why He deserves our worship and how remembering His character deepens our praise.* **God's faithfulness:** What His dealings with Israel teach us about His unchanging nature.* **God as Provider and Protector:** How we can trust Him to care for us and meet our needs.* **The heart of a Father:** Discovering God's love, patience and desire for a close relationship with His people.* **The danger of turning away:** Why ignoring God's voice and choosing our own path can lead us away from the fullness of life He desires for us.* **God's invitation to return:** How even when we wander, His Word calls us back to a relationship with Him.Psalm 81 invites us to examine our own hearts. Are we listening to God's voice? Are we trusting Him as our Provider and Protector? Have we become distracted by our own desires, or are we walking closely with Him? And when God corrects us, do we recognise the love behind His call? This psalm reminds us that God desires more than outward worship. He longs for hearts that listen, trust and obey. He wants us to experience the goodness of walking in relationship with Him, enjoying His provision and resting in His faithful love.Join us as we explore Psalm 81, reflect on God's character and discover fresh reasons to praise Him. May this study encourage you to trust His faithfulness, listen to His voice and respond to His invitation to walk closely with Him.**Because the God who calls us to worship Him is also the Father who longs for us to return, trust Him and experience the fullness of life found in His presence.**📖 **Scripture focus:** Psalm 81#Psalm81 #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #PraisingGod #GodsFaithfulness #GodsLove #GodsProtection #GodOurProvider #KnowingGod #ChristianLiving #OldTestament #PrayerAndWorship #TrustingGod #WalkingWithGod #BibleTeaching

Christmas Cards or Winter Cards? Defending Our Faith Without Creating Division
In this episode, we share our reactions to the news that a school in Aberdeen has moved from Christmas cards to Winter cards in a move intended to be more inclusive. We explore the wider conversation around faith, culture and religious expression, and how some politicians are using issues like this to stir division rather than encourage understanding. We believe it is possible to celebrate our Christian faith confidently while respecting the beliefs and traditions of others. **Celebrating one thing should never require the demonisation of another.** We should be able to celebrate Christmas, Diwali, Hanukkah, Eid and other religious or cultural festivals without feeling threatened by one another or pressured to erase our own traditions. 🎄 **Christmas Cards vs Winter Cards:** Our thoughts on the Aberdeen school decision and what it says about Christianity, inclusion and the place of faith in modern society. 🗣️ **Politics and Division:** Why we must be careful not to fall into the trap of political narratives that encourage hostility between communities. We can challenge decisions and have honest conversations without turning our neighbours into opponents. 🙏 **Defending the Christian Faith:** An encouragement to Christians to stand firm in their beliefs, speak openly about Jesus and defend the Gospel with courage, wisdom, grace and love. We are called to be salt and light, not to retreat into silence or respond with anger. ❤️ **Inclusion Without Erasure:** Respecting the right of everyone to celebrate their religious festivals should not mean abandoning our own. Genuine inclusion allows people to express their beliefs while treating others with dignity and respect. 🏫 **Getting Involved:** Rather than simply reacting to headlines, we encourage Christians to get involved in planning Christmas events at schools, workplaces, churches and within our communities. Be present, contribute positively and help ensure the true message of Christmas is heard. 🏛️ **Praying for Our Leaders:** Whatever our political differences, we are called to pray for those in authority. Let us pray for our government, school leaders, teachers and decision-makers, asking God to guide them with wisdom, discernment and compassion. 🌍 **The Inclusive Message of Christmas:** Above all, we must remember that Jesus came for ALL. The Gospel is not limited to one nation, ethnicity or community. God's invitation extends to everyone who believes, Jew and Gentile alike. 📖 John 3:16 reminds us: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This is the heart of Christmas: God's love revealed through Jesus Christ, bringing hope and salvation to the world. **OUR MESSAGE THIS CHRISTMAS** Let us not become so caught up in arguments about cards, greetings and traditions that we forget Christ Himself. We can stand firm in our faith while showing love to our neighbours. We can defend the freedom to celebrate Christmas while respecting the freedom of others to celebrate their own festivals. This Christmas, let us pray for our leaders, get involved in our schools and workplaces, support our churches, serve our communities and share the hope of Jesus with those around us. The answer to division is not more division. It is truth spoken in love, faith expressed with courage and the Gospel shared with everyone. 💬 **JOIN THE CONVERSATION:** What do you think about the move from Christmas cards to Winter cards? How can schools balance inclusion with respect for Christian traditions? Share your thoughts in the comments, and let's have a respectful conversation. 🎁 **Our challenge to you:** Pray for our leaders. Defend your faith with grace. Get involved in your community. Respect others without hiding your convictions. Above all, share the good news that Jesus Christ came for all who believe.

Women in the Bible - Puah and Shiphrah
# Puah and Shiphrah: Courage, Quiet Defiance and the Power of Women of Faith | Women in the Bible What does it mean to stand for God when the world around you demands that you do otherwise? And can quiet, strategic obedience to God be just as powerful as bold, public acts of defiance? Found in Exodus 1, these two women lived during a time when the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt under the rule of Pharaoh. Faced with his horrific command to kill every Hebrew baby boy at birth, Puah and Shiphrah made a choice that demonstrated extraordinary courage. They feared God more than they feared the most powerful king on earth and refused to obey an order that went against His will. Their story teaches us that courage doesn't always have to be loud, visible or dramatic. We often think of biblical defiance through the example of Daniel, who openly stood firm in his faith. But Puah and Shiphrah show us another kind of courage: quiet, strategic and collective defiance. They worked together, using wisdom and discernment to protect innocent lives without Pharaoh knowing what they were doing. We explore the power of women coming together in faith, supporting one another and working behind the scenes to accomplish God's purposes. These women were likely leaders among the midwives, and their influence reminds us that some of the greatest acts of faithfulness happen away from the spotlight. When Pharaoh eventually summoned them to explain their actions, God gave them wisdom in their response. Their story reminds us that when we fear God above all earthly authority, He can equip us with the wisdom and courage we need to navigate difficult situations. **In this episode, we reflect on some powerful lessons from Puah and Shiphrah:** ✨ **The courage to obey God:** What happens when the expectations of society, culture or the laws of the land conflict with God's Word? We learn the importance of standing firm in biblical truth, trusting that God will see us through. ✨ **The power of quiet defiance:** Not every act of courage needs to be public or confrontational. Sometimes the most powerful resistance is quiet, strategic and rooted in obedience to God. ✨ **The strength of women working together:** Puah and Shiphrah remind us of the incredible influence women can have when they unite in faith, purpose and a shared commitment to honouring God. ✨ **God rewards obedience:** Their faithfulness did not go unnoticed. Exodus tells us that God dealt well with the midwives and established households for them. Their story demonstrates that God sees our obedience, even when the world does not. ✨ **Wisdom in difficult circumstances:** We see how God can give us the words, discernment and wisdom we need when our faith is challenged. ✨ **Our frontline is our ministry:** Perhaps one of the most important lessons from these women is that our greatest opportunity to serve God may not be behind a pulpit or within the walls of a church. It is often in the everyday spaces where He has placed us. Our workplaces, homes, communities, friendships and relationships are our frontlines. These are the places where we can demonstrate God's faithfulness, love, glory and mercy to the world. As Christians, when we each faithfully live out our calling on our individual frontlines, our collective influence can reach further into society than a pastor preaching for an hour on a Sunday ever could alone. Puah and Shiphrah remind us that ministry is not reserved for those with a platform, a title or a public voice. Every one of us has a God-given opportunity to make a difference right where we are. Their story challenges us to ask ourselves: **Are we honouring God in the everyday decisions we make? Are we willing to stand for His truth when it costs us something? And are we recognising our own frontline as a place of ministry? #BiblicalWomanhood #FaithAndCourage #ObedienceToGod #StandingOnGodsWord #QuietStrength #ChristianLiving #YourFrontlineIsYourMinistry #GodsFaithfulness
