What is actually fueling your life?
Fear can make you move.
Guilt can make you work.
Approval can make you run hard.
Pride, anger, pressure, and stress can all keep you going for a while.
But just because something can move you does not mean it was meant to fuel your life.
In 2 Corinthians 5, Paul tells us what kept him going through suffering, rejection, hardship, and sacrifice:
“The love of Christ compels us.”
In this message, Pastor Mark talks about:
• What it means to be compelled by the love of Christ
• Why the Christian life begins with how deeply Jesus has loved us
• The difference between running for love and running for approval
• Why the wrong fuel eventually leaves us sputtering
• How fear, guilt, pride, and recognition can become unhealthy motivation
• Why biblical love is not weak or sentimental
• How truth and love belong together
• What Jesus’ restoration of Peter teaches us about grace and truth
• Why loving Jesus must eventually become visible in the way we love people
• How service becomes unhealthy when recognition is the fuel
• Why we love because Jesus loved us first
• How to examine whether your current life is moving toward the legacy you want
• Why the goal is to be known by love
Paul does not say ambition compelled him.
He does not say guilt compelled him.
He does not say fear compelled him.
He says love did.
The cross settles the question of whether God loves you.
You do not run hard enough to convince God to love you.
You run because you already have been loved.
And when the love of Christ becomes the fuel underneath your life, it changes the way you treat people.
You forgive because you have been forgiven.
You give because you have received grace.
You love because He loved you first.
Jesus showed us what love looks like with Peter.
Peter failed.
Jesus did not pretend the failure did not happen.
But He also refused to let Peter’s worst moment become the final word over his life.
He restored him and then pointed Peter toward people:
“You love Me? Then love them.”
That is where love becomes visible.
And when the race is finally over, maybe one of the greatest things anyone could say about us is simply:
He loved Jesus, and because he loved Jesus, he loved us well.

What's Mastering You?
A lot of people ask, “How far is too far?” or “Where exactly is the line?”
But that may already be the wrong question.
In 1 Corinthians 6, Paul says, “I have the right to do anything, but I will not be mastered by anything.”
The issue is not just what you are allowed to do.
The deeper question is:
What has started to own you?
In this message, Pastor Mark talks about:
• Why discipleship is more than figuring out how close you can get to the line
• The difference between freedom and being mastered
• How a desire can slowly become a ruler
• Why not every desire deserves your yes
• What spiritual maturity looks like when your appetites get loud
• Three questions that expose what may be mastering you
• Why stress reveals what you have trained yourself to trust
• Why some habits need darkness to survive
• Why real courage sometimes means running away
• What Joseph teaches us about fleeing temptation
• What David teaches us about running from responsibility
• Why respectable masters are still masters
• How shame can hide some forms of bondage while culture celebrates others
• Why freedom is not ultimately about self-mastery
• What it means to belong completely to Jesus
You can be free to pick something up and not be free enough to put it down.
That is mastery.
The question is not:
“Can I have it?”
The question is:
“Does it have me?”
And sometimes freedom requires running.
Joseph ran from temptation.
David ran from his calling.
One protected his calling by fleeing desire.
The other protected his desire by fleeing responsibility.
At some point, you have to run from the right thing.
If comfort masters you, you will run from sacrifice.
If fear masters you, you will run from obedience.
If lust masters you, you will run from faithfulness.
But if Christ is your Master, you will run from anything that keeps you from Him.
And the gospel is not that you finally became strong enough to master yourself.
The gospel is that Jesus bought you out of slavery to sin and made you His own.
Your body belongs to Him because His body was given for you.
His blood was poured out for the sin you tried to hide.
So flee what wants to master you.
Pursue the One who already gave Himself for you.
