About Cinema IRL

Movies give us countless scenarios and situations the characters have to navigate. Well, how would YOU handle these situations in you were in their place? Amber, Scott and the occasional guest tackle this very topic. We're not a review show, but there are enough opinions between us you'll get a little of that too. We mostly try to keep it lighthearted and funny. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes not so much, but it's usually entertaining nonetheless, or at least we hope

E229 - Ella McCay - What Would YOU Do?

This week, we delve into the political comedy-drama "Ella McKay", where an idealistic lieutenant governor's sudden ascent to the state's highest office quickly devolves into delightful chaos. She's not just facing the pressures of her new role; she's also wrestling with a blackmailing reporter, an infuriatingly entitled husband whose blunders know no bounds, and a family that's a masterclass in dysfunction. Join us as we unpack Ella's whirlwind governorship, her husband's truly shocking missteps, and ponder whether some family grudges are best left intact.

E228 - One Hundred Nights of Hero - What Would YOU Do?

This week, we're diving into the delightfully absurd yet terrifying world of *100 Nights of Hero*, where our protagonist Cherry finds herself in a literal "fuck or be fucked" situation. Neglected by her husband, she has 100 days to get pregnant or die, all while her spouse makes a shocking wager with a "dangerously seductive" visitor. Get ready to unpack a bizarre, patriarchal society where women face death for everything from not procreating to literacy, and survival means navigating truly impossible odds.
