[…] And I think moving into the witch genre, you start to get this confirmation of, yes, the magic is real. Yes, the energy, whatever, that they are harvesting from the earth or from their practice or from the devil, wherever you want to say their energy comes from. is real and can make supernatural things happen. And then from there, it kind of evolved into whether or not you want to focus on the witches, whether the witches are the villains. But I do think today's is interesting because it will share a lot of it. It's from that period that I feel like it does have a lot of relationships storytelling wise to that folk horror in the way that we were talking about and somebody scratching at the surface and kind of being horrified at what they discover.
