Rooted (Week 4) - Tim Petersen
What does it mean to live a life that truly matters? In the final week of our Rooted series through Colossians, we discover that significance isn’t about being impressive, visible, or well-known. It’s about being rooted in Jesus and allowing Him to work through us to make a difference in the lives of others.
Drawing from Colossians 4, we explore four ways to live a life of purpose: pray faithfully, notice people, speak life, and live in community. Through the inspiring stories of ordinary people whose simple acts of obedience had extraordinary ripple effects, we’re reminded that we never know how God might use one prayer, one conversation, or one act of kindness to change a life.
We’re not rooted in Christ just to survive life’s storms; we’re rooted to bear fruit. Our challenge is simple: One Person. One Prayer. One Step. Who has God placed in front of you? How can you pray for them? What is one step you can take to encourage, serve, forgive, or share Jesus with them?
As we close our journey through Colossians, we’re reminded that our identity, security, and purpose are found in Jesus. Because of what He has done for us on the cross, we can live fruitful lives that bring glory to Him and make an eternal difference in the world around us.
Join us for this week’s message from CityHill Church Amanzimtoti, and discover how being rooted in Jesus empowers us to reach out and live a life that truly matters.

Rooted (Week 3) - Tyron Gander
What needs to be shed so Christ can transform you?
In Colossians 3, we’re challenged to leave behind the old self and become a new creation—rooted in Christ and clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, patience, forgiveness and love.
Like a caterpillar in a chrysalis, God is often doing His deepest work beneath the surface. As He transforms us, our lives can become a source of strength, shelter and blessing to those around us.
