I was speaking to a professor some time ago now, and he was actually saying, I can't get enough students in my lower-level courses to sign up for 16th century literature where I'm going to read Shakespeare to actually make it within financial means makes sense to teach Shakespeare at the undergraduate level. And I totally get that. You've got to make money. You've got to work. You've got to live in this real world. But man, even in that kind of culture where the university can't legitimize teaching a Shakespearean drama to a university student, to an undergrad student. […]
