Our first deep cut — a bonus episode format for short picks between seasons. Today: The Yellow Wallpaper (1892) by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, who also married her cousin.
TLDR: A woman is prescribed a "rest cure" by her doctor husband and confined to a room with ugly wallpaper. She is not allowed to write, work, or think. This goes about as well as you'd expect. The OG Year of Rest and Relaxation. We also announce our next book.

We review the Emerald Fennell movie (it was fun, everyone relax). Isabella writes a letter to Nelly about her new life with Heathcliff. Shocker: it's not going well. In the advanced era of Victorian medical care, Cathy has a baby and promptly dies. Heathcliff asks to be haunted (careful what you wish for). We also discuss what jobs everyone would have in 2026. Cathy would be Trisha Paytas. Heathcliff would probably be in jail.

Heathcliff returns to the moors but he's super hot now. His original plan was to commit a murder-suicide but he changes his mind and moves into Hindley's frat house down the road. The men bring awareness to gambling addiction. Isabella falls for local hottie Heathcliff, and Cathy has a psychotic break. Jealousy is a disease!

Wuthering Heights Part 2: The Wuthering Heights Wellness Retreat | Chapters 6-9
Hindley returns from somewhere (college? war? Liverpool?) with a wife who immediately starts losing her mind. The children go feral. The Lintons are racist. Cathy gets a makeover and an engagement. Heathcliff runs away during a thunderstorm.
