What Franchise Buyers Are Really Telling Us About How They Buy
Franchise development teams spend enormous amounts of time trying to answer one question: How do we get more qualified franchise buyers to inquire? We build websites. We buy leads. We run paid media. We create content. We optimize for search. We develop drip campaigns. We attend conferences. We hire brokers. But sometimes the better question is not "how do we generate more leads?" It is, "how do people actually decide to buy a franchise?" I recently looked at responses from franchise owners about how they discovered their brands, what they researched, what they feared, what they wish they had known and what ultimately made them comfortable buying. The answers challenge some of the assumptions franchise development teams make every day.Read more about this episode of Coffee and Analytics!

The Seven Questions Franchise Buyers Need Answered Before They Inquire
Franchise brands spend heavily to generate awareness, attract website visitors, and produce leads. But one of the most important parts of the franchise development funnel happens before a prospect ever fills out a form. A prospective franchisee sees a brand, begins researching the opportunity and eventually decides whether it is worth taking the next step. Understanding what moves someone from impression to inquiry could help franchisors improve conversion without simply spending more money on lead generation. I reviewed dozens of our franchisee survey responses to a single question: “What were your top three deciding factors?” Franchisees cited brand reputation, investment level, market opportunity, territory availability, scalability, franchisor support, culture, personal fit, and the strength of the business model. While individual answers varied, the responses suggest prospective franchisees are trying to answer seven fundamental questions before they inquire. Join me Live at Coffee & Analytics to dig deeper into how franchise brands can shorten the distance between awareness and inquiry. How Franchise Brands Turn Deals Into Proof of Concept Marketing
I keep coming back to the same question every time a franchise signs a new owner.
Why does everyone act like it's an administrative event? A franchise agreement gets signed. Someone updates a CRM. Maybe there's a press release. Maybe a LinkedIn post if someone remembers. Then everyone goes back to work. Meanwhile, one of the most important marketing moments a franchise brand will ever have quietly disappears.
That's backwards...
Because a franchise signing isn't paperwork. It's proof!
Proof that someone looked at every opportunity they could have invested in... and chose yours. Proof that another territory just became less available. Proof that your momentum is real. Most brands celebrate the signing internally. The best brands amplify it everywhere.
