Collective Community Church (C3) is a vibrant spirit-filled church in Birmingham Alabama. Our church is rooted in embracing a sincere desire to follow God while developing friendships with others that want to do the same.
Join us as we unpack the powerful "Stack" series from Collective Community Church and Pastor Damon Davis! This series isn't just about getting saved; it's a blueprint for discipleship, focusing on what happens after you're set free. Forget the idea of just being a "churchgoer" – a concept created by Western Christianity that doesn't exist in the Bible. The true call is to be a disciple, someone who has given their life and is prepared for the coming of the Lord.
The "Stack" series reveals that being a disciple means building your spiritual life layer upon layer, like stacking bricks or building a skyscraper. It's about God starting a good work in you and His desire to complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. This isn't a self-paced journey; God has a pace and a strategy for your progress. While you are a "work in progress," that term shouldn't be an excuse for a lack of effort or slow progress.
We dive into what it truly means to follow Jesus. It's not just saying you follow Him, but actually doing what He says. This requires counting the cost and being willing to give up everything – your desires, ambitions, habits, activities, and philosophies – to be replaced by His ways. Following His voice means hearing and recognizing truth, even when that truth is uncomfortable because it exposes the lies we've been living.
Discipleship is like sparring – it's challenging, sometimes painful, but it prepares you for the real fight and helps you win the battles in your life. It involves digging deep and laying your foundation on the rock, not just building on the surface with intellectual knowledge. This deep work means letting God put His shovel into your heart and address the core issues. While building high quickly might draw attention, the lasting structure comes from digging deep and taking the necessary steps.
A key lesson is the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing faith in God. You cannot follow Jesus and yourself at the same time. True promotion and increase come from God, not the world.
Tune in as we explore these vital concepts:
•The difference between churchgoers and biblical disciples.
•Hearing and following the voice of truth.
•Why discipleship is like sparring and leads to winning.
•The necessity of counting the cost and giving up everything to follow Jesus.
•Building your spiritual life layer by layer – the "Stack" blueprint.
•The power of digging deep and building on a firm foundation.
•Overcoming lies and embracing the uncomfortable truth for transformation.
•Taking the next step God is calling you to.
This conversation will challenge and encourage you to embrace the call to discipleship, allowing God to utterly change and disrupt your life for the better, leading you to higher ground and a deeper understanding of Him.

The Deep Dive: This Magnificent, Brilliant & Undying Light Wk 3
Ready to stop coasting and start shining? In this episode of The Deep Dive, we unpack Pastor Damon Davis's powerful sermon, "Fighting for the Magnificent Light Within," the final part of his series on this magnificent, brilliant, and undying love light of mine. Pastor Damon gets straight to the core message: the light of God within you is worth the fight!
Discover how life in Christ involves spiritual battles and "adversarial contention," but learn that your struggles aren't meant to snuff out your inner brilliance – they can actually buff it, making it brighter. We explore the mind-blowing idea that your light and momentary troubles are producing an eternal weight of glory that far outweighs them all.
But the biggest fight? Pastor Damon says it's often the one with yourself – the crucial internal fight against stagnation. Learn how to win this battle, not through sheer willpower, but by tapping into God's strength through the Holy Spirit and exercising self-control, a vital fruit of the Spirit.
We discuss how the Word of God is your weapon in this internal war and why dealing with your "first boss" (yourself) is foundational for effective spiritual warfare.
Finally, we explore the powerful picture of those who fight for this light, shining like stars forever and ever, understanding the eternal consequences of neglect but embracing the incredible potential for growth and displaying God's glory to others.
Don't let your light be dimmed! Tune in to learn how to value, remember, and actively fight for the magnificent light God has placed inside you. What area in your life needs you to engage the fight this week? Find out how this sermon can inspire you.
