About Columbus Bible Church - Wednesday Bible Study | Rightly Dividing with David Reid

Wednesday Bible Study Sessions from Columbus Bible Church (Columbus, Ohio) - Preaching the good news of salvation by grace through faith from the King James Bible, rightly divided! David Reid answers submitted Bible questions live, studying the Scriptures and rightly dividing the word of truth. With busy lives and so much happening in this crazy world, Wednesday Bible study is a refreshing opportunity to slow down and dig into God’s word. We believe the most important message we could ever share is the good news of salvation: that we are saved by grace through faith alone in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection—not by our works or how religious we are. Jesus saves, and all who trust in His finished work are forgiven, justified, and eternally secure in Him. We study and teach God’s word through a literal, dispensational approach, providing a clear, stable, God-given framework for understanding the Bible and strengthening faith. Whether you are opening a Bible for the first time, searching for answers about God and salvation, or looking for a church family where you can deepen your understanding of Scripture and grow closer to Christ, you are welcome here. Three Categories of Prophets in Scripture and the Ministry of Body of Christ Prophets | RD with DR

This sermon examines three distinct categories of prophets found in Scripture: Old Testament prophets, Kingdom Church prophets, and Body of Christ prophets. The primary focus is on the third category, the prophets given specifically to the Body of Christ during the early dispensation of grace. This sermon establishes that these prophets held the second most important role in the early church, behind only the apostles, and served as the foundation upon which the Body of Christ was built alongside Christ as the chief cornerstone. Their essential function was to receive revelation from the Holy Spirit and supply doctrinal knowledge that Paul had not yet committed to writing, thereby filling the gap between the installments of Pauline revelation. The sermon argues that once the New Testament canon was complete, the gift of prophecy -- along with other sign gifts such as tongues and healings -- ceased, as the need they were designed to meet had been fully satisfied by the completed written word of God. Believers today have access to the entirety of Paul's revelation and are therefore responsible to study and grow through the Scriptures alone.

Foolishness From the Pulpit: Beef, Climate Change, & Doctrines of Devils | RD with DR

This sermon responds to a news article reporting that a pastor and Senate candidate called his congregation to repent for eating beef and raising cattle on the grounds of climate change. This sermon examines this claim through Scripture and concludes that it represents biblical foolishness, a departure from the faith, and a literal fulfillment of the doctrines of devils warned about in 1 Timothy 4. This teaching demonstrates that eating beef is explicitly permitted, that no biblical list of sins includes dietary choices related to meat consumption, and that the real climate change event of consequence is the one God Himself will bring about at the end of the age as described in 2 Peter 3. The sermon also addresses the heightened accountability of those who hold platforms as pastors or public figures, and closes with a call to recognize the lateness of the hour and the importance of rightly handling the word of God.
