CCS Board Brag Tag- CCS Assistant Superintendent Adam Thompson

In this edition of the Columbus County Schools Brag Tag, Board of Education members Irvin Enzor and Emily Grice sit down with Assistant Superintendent Adam Thompson to highlight his leadership, dedication, and the important role he plays in the continued progress of Columbus County Schools. A Columbus County native and proud graduate of Columbus County Schools, Thompson has devoted his career to serving the students and communities of his home county. From classroom teacher to principal and now Assistant Superintendent, his experience and leadership have helped shape the district's commitment to providing safe, welcoming, and high-quality learning environments. With responsibilities spanning high schools, school facilities, maintenance, transportation, child nutrition, and technology, Thompson plays a vital role in nearly every aspect of district operations. His work requires careful planning, responsible management of resources, and a forward-thinking approach to meeting the needs of students and staff. A major highlight of the conversation is Thompson's leadership in the planning and development of the new East View Elementary-Middle School in Bolton. He shares exciting details about the school's innovative design, construction progress, and unique features, along with drone footage offering a remarkable look at the new facility. Thompson also explains how community involvement and the area's rich timber industry history helped shape the school's identity as the home of the Lumberjacks. Thompson is also quick to recognize the dedicated employees working behind the scenes to make our schools successful, emphasizing that strong schools depend on teamwork across every department. Throughout the conversation, his pride in Columbus County is evident, as is his commitment to preparing students for success beyond graduation and creating opportunities that will strengthen our communities for generations to come.
