About Come & Do- A Come Follow Me podcast for Primary Teachers
Do you ever wonder how to help children connect with the scriptures? Come and Do is for Primary teachers and parents who are preparing Come, Follow Me lessons and want their kids to be creating, moving, and acting in the gospel, not just listening to it.
Join a former elementary school teacher, Whitney Boyer, every week for fresh lesson ideas and practical teacher tips designed to turn passive learning into active discipleship- encouraging movement, creativity, discussion, and personal expression. Grounded in the truth that children are agents and creative beings, these lessons invite students to discover the gospel for themselves.
Jeremiah: Come Follow Me Lesson Ideas for Primary, Oct. 19-25
This week on Come & Do, we’re learning how prophets help us grow! Using Jeremiah 1:10, we’ll explore how prophets help us plant good things in our lives and root out the things that hold us back. Junior Primary will act out real-life scenarios using blocks and feathers (good thing they have imaginations to pretend it's a plant and weeds:), while Senior Primary will work in teams to sort scriptures and General Conference messages. They'll then creatively teach their classmates what they’ve learned. Both lessons give kids the chance to move, create, collaborate, and teach gospel truths in their own words. Come discover how to turn a lesson about prophets into an active, hands-on experience your kids will remember!

Isaiah 50-57: Come Follow Me Lesson Idea for Primary, Oct. 5-11
What if your Primary kids could carry a reminder of Jesus Christ’s love with them wherever they go? This week, we’re exploring the powerful promise in Isaiah 54:10 that even if the mountains move and the hills disappear, Jesus Christ’s kindness and love will never leave us. Through repetition, movement, and sensory learning, they’ll practice memorizing a “scripture friend” they can remember whenever they feel sad, make a mistake, or need reassurance of the Savior’s love. We’ll finish by creating a personalized sticker (or a scripture-inspired T-shirt design for Senior Primary) to serve as a daily reminder of this beautiful truth. This is one simple but powerful doctrine that, if planted deeply in our children’s hearts, can change their lives!

Isaiah 13-14;22; 24-30;35: Come Follow Me Lesson Ideas for Primary, Sep. 21-27
Joyfully Reverent describes this Junior Primary lesson! They will celebrate the Resurrection and understand how Jesus Christ overcame death and hell. Sing “Gethsemane" together and then use a fun object lesson with two “monsters,” and let the children rip them up and celebrate Christ’s victory. Finish with a joyful reminder that because of Jesus Christ, we can all be resurrected—and yes, you may even have to play “pick the magic trash” afterward!
Senior Primary will discover that Jesus Christ can restore what is lost or broken through a partner scripture study and simple graphic organizer. Kids read a parable, retell it in their own words, answer questions about Jesus Christ, and share a personal experience before teaching their story to a small group. This activity is packed with scaffolding—partners, teacher support, a graphic organizer, and smaller groups help kids feel successful doing something that might otherwise feel hard. These kids need lots of practice teaching before YM and YW and these kind of activities prepare them.
