[…] Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord will be with you." This to me is one of the most comforting stories in the scriptures. Jehoshaphat, as leader of the people of Judah, felt like he and his people had been doing everything the Lord wanted them to. They'd been delivered out of Egypt all those hundreds of years ago, led to the promised land, strengthened to defeat those who would have prevented them from settling in the land, but commanded to leave a few groups alone because the Lord had side deals with them. While the people hadn't always been righteous and obedient, they had repented and Jehoshaphat was doing his best to lead them now in righteousness. […]
