Come To The Table

About Come To The Table

Welcome to the table! We believe that love, fellowship, and good conversation happens through bringing people into our lives and to our table. Each of us have been impacted by what we like to call Conversational Christianity. Being invited into the homes of others and sitting at their tables for conversation has transformed our hearts, and we believe it will transform yours, too. So we offer you a seat — and a window — into our lives. We have seen how God has worked in us by bringing certain people to our tables. It isn’t about agreeing, in fact we often won’t, it’s about knowing God’s word and being open to conversation. So take a seat…you can sit with us.

Too Black For This, Too White For That: Being Biracial in a Divided World

In this episode of Come To The Table, host Kendyll pulls back the curtain on what it means to exist as a biracial Black and White woman in a society that often demands you pick a side. Through deeply personal storytelling, honest critique, and compassionate insight, Kendyll, Anna, and Sam explore racial fluidity, the pressures of identity, and the complexity of belonging when the world feels divided. From conversations about microaggressions and the weight of being “racially ambiguous,” to cultural gatekeeping and the pervasive image of white Jesus—this episode is as layered as the identity it represents. Kendyll also speaks directly to those raising children of a different race, offering perspective, cautions, and heartfelt advice for parents navigating this often-unspoken terrain. A few themes explored: 🌊 Racial fluidity and how identity can shift depending on context (yes, Kamala Harris gets a mention) 💥 The isolating tension of being “too much” or “not enough” for either side 🗺️ Navigating faith and race—yes, we talk about white Jesus (with love and honesty) 🚨 Microaggressions, code-switching, and subtle ways racism shows up 🤌🏻 Advice for parents raising Black or multiracial children This episode centers Kendyll’s lived experience—not a monolith, but a meaningful lens for reflection and growth. Whether you identify personally or you're showing up to listen and learn, you’re welcome at the table. 🎧 Listen now on your favorite podcast platform. 📩 Got thoughts or want to connect? Bible Stories for the Lame!!!! A Valley, a Question, and a Dem Bones, Dem Bones, Dem Dry Bones (Ezekiel, You Good Bro?)

Welcome to Come to the Table, where we’re pulling up a chair and digging into the parts of Scripture that are weird, wild, or just plain hard to understand. Today’s episode is part of our “Bible Stories for the Lame” mini-series—aka: Making the Bible make sense for the rest of us who love Jesus and just want to understand His Word without feeling like we need a seminary degree to do it. This week, we’re in Ezekiel 37—the Valley of Dry Bones. It sounds like a Halloween movie plot, but it's actually one of the most powerful, hope-soaked visions in the Old Testament. This chapter speaks directly to dry seasons, silent years, and parts of us that feel too far gone for redemption. If you’ve ever asked, “Can anything good come from this?” or “Is it even worth hoping again?”—this episode is for you. In This Episode: What’s actually happening in the book of Ezekiel? Why the bones are dry, what it means, and why God asks such a haunting question How this vision points forward to Jesus and the resurrection power available to us now Why breath matters—and what it means when God breathes into what we thought was done An honest reflection: Can these bones live… for real? Lame Takeaway: God asks Ezekiel, “Can these bones live?” And the same question is being asked of us. In your dry, discouraged, defeated season… what’s your honest answer? Because here’s the truth: God specializes in bringing dead things back to life. Discussion Question: “Can these bones live?” — How would you honestly answer that question in your current season of life, faith, or healing? Resources Mentioned: The Bible Project – Ezekiel Overview (Parts 1 & 2) The Bible Recap – Day 229: Ezekiel 37 Romans 8:11 – "The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you…” Let’s Stay Connected: If today’s episode hit home, share it with a friend who might be feeling spiritually dry or hopeless. Leave a review, tag us on socials, or send a message sharing your takeaway. You’re not lame. You’re learning—and we’re in it together. The Wayward Journey: Finding Home at the Campfire When You've Turned Your Back On Jesus

In this episode, we unpack the tender and often complicated reality of spiritual wandering—whether you’ve felt like the black sheep, wrestled with doubt, or found yourself misunderstood in faith communities. Through honest dialogue and biblical reflection, we talk about the difference between falling away and being left behind, the pain behind anger, and how judgment often masks what is really just deep hurt. We explore what it means to be a campfire kind of Christian—not someone who tries to fix, lecture, or shame—but someone who radiates the warmth of Jesus. Drawing on passages from John 18 and 21, we reflect on Peter’s denial and Jesus’ gentle, redemptive response: a charcoal fire, a shared breakfast, and a reminder that failure doesn’t disqualify us from love. ✨ We discuss: Why knowledge and wisdom aren't the same—and how too much pride in "being right" can isolate us. The ways anger can be a cry for connection rather than rebellion. What people in pain actually need: not correction, but compassion. The idea that we are not the light, but vessels that carry the Light. Jesus’ use of setting, memory, and symbolism to redeem Peter’s shame. How coming back to Jesus often looks messy—but it is always worth it. If you’ve ever felt lost in the dark, or if someone you love has drifted from their faith, this conversation is for you. We hope it reminds you that Jesus is still by the fire, waiting with love—not shame. 🔥 Come as you are. Sit by the fire. You are not forgotten.
