Sin Miedo Trail Runners. With Yolanda and Antoine Haugabook
Yolanda “Yo” Haugabook (https://www.instagram.com/yofitespanol/) and Antoine Haugabook (https://www.instagram.com/runmorefearless/) love to run and bring people together. Although nobody explicitly told them they weren’t welcome at their local trail running club, that’s how they felt. So, in 2025, they created Sin Miedo Trail Runners (https://www.instagram.com/sinmiedotrailrunners/), a welcoming space for the entire running community, including BIPOC runners. Since then, the group has grown, helping newcomers develop the skills and confidence to take on the trails. It was really awesome hearing about the club, and I know you will enjoy the conversation as much as I did!

Running Lifestyle Media. With Kimberly Valentine
Kimberly Valentine (https://www.runninglifestylemedia.com/?utm_campaign=button_list_RunningLifestyleMediacom&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=later-linkinbio) loves running and spotlighting people in the running community. She’s always been a passionate writer and has had a bit of a journey in her running writing, from where it started to where it is today, at Running Lifestyle Media (https://www.instagram.com/runninglifestylemedia). She talked about finding her style and what that transition was like, and how much she loves featuring people that inspire her. This all happened because she was laid off and took the leap. That’s pretty awesome. This interview was great. I really loved hearing what motivated Kimberly and how much I could relate to her!

Indigenous Runners Alliance. With Anita Cardinal
Anita Cardinal (https://www.instagram.com/runswiththewind/) has been a runner for a long time. She remembers running as a child and being amazed by her father’s running prowess. She competed in sports and loves how running makes her feel and connect to the land. She would also notice she was the only person who looked like her at the start line. She knew running was important to many other Indigenous people and wanted to create a safe space where they could run together. The Indigenous Runners Alliance (https://www.indigenousrunner.com/) was created, and now they’re organizing events, helping Indigenous runners participate in other events, and growing the Alliance (https://www.instagram.com/indigenousrunner/) constantly. It was incredible to hear her story, and I’m so glad to be able to share it.
Check out Orange Shirt Run/Walk (https://www.indigenousrunner.com/the-race)going on this weekend in Edmonton, and next week in Calgary and Saskatoon!
