3rd Space Bucharest is a podcast about ambitious people trying to build a more interesting life in Bucharest.
This podcast explores modern urban life in Bucharest through short conversations with people from the 3rd Space community — the founders building companies, creatives reinventing themselves, expats starting over, and fascinating people you somehow end up discussing childhood trauma and wine with at midnight.

Anastasia Lucinschi was born in Russia, grew up in England, and now leads marketing and business development at Supertree, a coworking and business hub in Pipera. Anastasia also grew up with an Amazon green parrot that lived 25 years and could handle words with rolling Rs, which is more than some of us can say after years of Romanian lessons.
The real story is what happens when a do-everything marketing role means pings all day long. Anastasia joined the 3rd Space AI Circle, learned to build connectors that clear operational headaches fast, and came out with a noticeably calmer workday. Then came a friendly but firm case for keeping LinkedIn a business platform: case studies and useful information, not executive diary entries.

Ten Houses in Ten Years, Then Home to București
Elena Perry co-founded Wiggle Room, a calm play-and-development space for babies, toddlers and their parents near Piața Romană. Before that came ten houses in ten years across three continents, and then a move back to Bucharest so the kids could grow up with the language, the food and the family.
Running it turned out to involve a lot more than the brochure promised: mopping floors, doing the social media, handling the books, and putting €120,000 of the founders' own money on the line. The payoff Elena talks about isn't financial, though. It's the real, heart-to-heart friendships with other moms. We also covered reinterpreted Romanian food at Noua B.A.R. on Ion Mihalache, the best birria tacos in town (Eric agrees), and why a day as a kid sounds like a vacation.
Ten homes in ten years, and what finally pulled the family back to București
What a "calm" play space means, and why typical play centers aren't it
The jobs nobody warns founders about, from the mop to the accounting
A taco recommendation Eric fully co-signs
Whose life Elena would swap with for a day (hint: shorter, fewer chores)

Why He Registered in Hong Kong Instead of București
Bogdan Sandu started the Design Your Way blog back in 2008 and now runs Upcut Studio, where he scales client websites to hundreds of thousands of monthly visitors. His early companies were registered in Hong Kong and Paris rather than Romania — and not for tax reasons. Clients in the US and Europe hesitated at Romanian entities. Hong Kong, for whatever reason, didn’t raise an eyebrow.
He’s also cheerfully unimpressed by the scramble to optimize for ChatGPT and friends, calling it a gold rush that pays out about 3% more traffic for all that effort — so Upcut keeps its money on ordinary SEO instead.
We also got into the 28,000-subscriber newsletter he deliberately shrinks, an economics master’s that turned out useful anyway, and a completely unhedged defense of Taylor Swift.

Why he deletes people from a 28,000-person mailing list on purpose
