Trusted Construction Data, Actionable Intelligence
Johann Dudley, chief product officer at Dodge Construction Network, explores how construction data can help contractors and building product manufacturers identify better opportunities and make informed growth decisions. He explains how Dodge combines human reporting, data normalization, and connected project and company records to reveal relationships, forecast demand, and estimate the value of specific trades within a project.
The conversation covers Dodge One, relationship intelligence, and emerging capabilities that extract quantities, manufacturers, and product attributes from construction documents. Dudley also discusses integrating external market intelligence with internal business data, emphasizing clear objectives, thoughtful implementation, and adoption.
A central AI takeaway: the opportunity lies in helping companies assess which projects fit their strengths and deserve attention. Reliable data, transparent recommendations, and human judgment remain essential. Dudley argues that showing the evidence behind predictions builds trust and helps teams spend less time searching and more time pursuing the work that matters most.

Advancing Construction Data and Information with Graphs, Process and AI
Dodge Construction Networks has been collecting data and documents about construction project, building products and other information for over 100 years, and has the distinction of being trusted by the US government as a source for Census and economic statistics. Srini Varadarajan has transformed this uniquely powerful information base for the AI era. In this conversation, we discuss some of the challenges of applying AI to massive, diverse data sets, how to ensure reliability, and of course, how knowledge graphs make that easier. A fascinating discussion from one of the industry's best.

OpenSpace-Spatial AI for Construction
Jeevan Kalanithi, CEO of OpenSpace, explores what AI agents look like when they are designed for the realities of construction. Jeevan explains how OpenSpace turns jobsite imagery from 360 cameras, drones, phones, and scans into an organized visual record of what is actually happening in the field. We discuss why construction agents need “eyes,” not just access to contracts and documents, and how visual data can support practical tasks such as owner reports, safety assessments, and progress tracking. Jeevan also previews OpenSpace’s agentic framework and its move beyond chat toward more spatial, visual ways of working. Most importantly, we examine why contractors should focus less on AI for its own sake and more on reducing administrative burden, helping field teams solve problems faster, improving capacity, and bringing some of the humanity back to construction across increasingly complex projects.
