I'm Irvin Retiz. I've been around the electrical industry since I was 10 years old. I grew up in it, and it's in my DNA. That connection is why I care so much about the people doing the work and the generation coming up behind us.
I created Construction Royalty as a charitable project to help upcoming tradesmen and women find guidance, learn from people who've walked the path, and see a future for themselves in these industries. Alongside the podcast, we raise money to help improve their lives and support their futures. Our goal is to strengthen construction and real estate by investing in the people who shape them.
Here, we have honest conversations about faith, skilled work, business, leadership, and the lessons that often come the hard way. Whether you're an apprentice, an experienced tradesperson, or running your own company, there's a place for you here.
At the heart of this project is a belief that our work can serve God and others. We're here to share what we know, raise the standard, and help the next generation move forward—using our skills and opportunities to advance God's Kingdom here on Earth.
103. TB: Prison to $100M Developer w/ Eric Crutchfield
Eric Crutchfield is the founder of Crutchfield Customs, which specializes in modern high-end home building, 5 years ago after he got released from a 7.5 year prison sentence. Crutchfield Customs builds homes from the dirt up and sells them for $2 Million - $3 Million each. They literally build the Dopest Modern Homes in Dallas.
Eric's story is inspiring to say the least. Most people that go to prison for as long as Eric did, come out the gates and they're back to their old self that got them in prison in the first place. Two years into his prison sentence, Eric picked up a personal development book in the library that changed his life forever. In a span of just 5 years since he got out, he's accomplished more than what most people accomplish in their entire 30+ years in their career.
