Rebuilding Confidence & Identity From The Ground Up | #38 - Ricky Romero
Ricky Romero is a former Major League Baseball All-Star pitcher, 2004 College World Series Champion, and current host on the Blue Bird Territory podcast. Drafted 6th overall in 2005, Ricky spent over a decade in professional baseball before returning to school to finish his degree and reinventing himself as a father, coach, and mentor.

From growing up in East Los Angeles and absorbing his parents’ relentless work ethic to the heavy psychological toll of adversity as an athlete, Ricky shares candid reflections on the lessons that truly define a life.

Going back to college at 40 years old, sitting in small classrooms, and walking across the stage for his kids

Building a Rock Band From Scratch | #37 - Clem De Fabrique
Clem De Fabrique is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter who fronts the hard rock band Clem RockZ and runs a digital marketing venture in Miami.
From bonding over Metallica’s mind-bending residency at the Sphere to breaking down what actually happens behind the scenes of touring and modern music production, this conversation dives deep into the heart of hard rock and heavy metal.
Clem opens up about moving from the French Caribbean to Florida, his unexpected childhood friendship with Mark Tremonti’s son, and how the Creed and Alter Bridge icon took him under his wing as a guitar and vocal mentor. We also pull back the curtain on the business side of being an artist: navigating social media algorithms, self-producing records, overcoming perfectionism, and the entrepreneurial grind required to build an independent brand today.
In this episode, we cover:
Metallica at the Sphere: Setlist surprises, visual spectacles, and why live audio beats studio records.
Kirk Hammett’s improvisational genius and breaking down guitar tone, drop tunings, and the studio "wall of sound."
Clem’s journey from Guadeloupe to Orlando and how Alter Bridge’s Fortress ignited his passion for guitar.
The Mark Tremonti mentorship: Crucial lessons on songwriting, gear discipline, and finding the confidence to sing.
Inside Clem RockZ: Songwriting origins (Quantum of Solace), auditioning band members, and rebuilding the lineup.
Modern music creation: Home studio recording rigs, audio interfaces, and troubleshooting workflows.
Musician as CEO: Digital marketing, self-producing albums, and Cody & Clem’s shared philosophies on entrepreneurship and daily consistency.
