Cooley & The Gang (CNTG) – Grown Folk Edition
Welcome to the room where Culture, Marriage, and Real Life meet honest conversation. CNTG is built on real friendships, real perspectives, and the kind of dialogue most people only have after the cameras are off.
Hosted by Cooley with The Professor, Big G, and Glam Shan at the table — with Mack holding the family seat whenever the crew needs a fill-in., we talk about life the way grown folks actually live it — without cosplay, without fake outrage, and with enough humor to tell the truth without falling out.
A roof over your head. Food on the table. Clothes on your back. Lights that stayed on. But was that enough to say you were raised?
In this episode of Cooley & The Gang, we're having a grown-folk conversation about parenting, responsibility, and the difference between providing for children and preparing them for life.
Who really raised you? Was it your parents, grandparents, family members, or somebody outside your household who stepped up when it mattered?
We're getting into discipline, giving children a voice, the influence of social media, changing parenting styles, and the life skills every generation needs. We're also asking some uncomfortable questions: Are we doing better than our parents, or overcorrecting for what we experienced growing up? And at what point does responsibility shift from the parent to the adult child?
This isn't about declaring one generation right and another wrong. It's about examining what we were taught, what we've changed, and what we're passing down.
Join the conversation: Who helped raise you, and what's one lesson you wish you'd learned before becoming an adult?

Episode 8: The Nostalgia Trap
Were the 90s actually better… or do we just miss the way it felt?
On this episode of Cooley & The Gang, we’re taking a trip back—but this isn’t just about saying everything was better back in the day.
We talk Saturday morning cartoons, Martin, BET, The Box, mixtapes, cheap gas, family gatherings, block parties and the shared experiences that helped define growing up in the 90s. Then the conversation gets deeper: Did streaming and social media change the way we connect? Why does everything feel like a remake, reboot or sequel? And are we so busy missing the culture we grew up with that we’ve forgotten it’s now our responsibility to create those experiences for the next generation?
The Professor makes a point that changes the direction of the conversation: maybe what we really miss isn't the TV shows, music or even the decade itself—maybe we miss the people who were there experiencing it with us.
And that leaves us with a harder question: Did the traditions disappear, or did our generation fail to pick up the torch?

Episode 7: The Cost of a Split Second
Sometimes it only takes a few seconds to make a decision that can follow you for years.
In Episode 7 of Cooley & The Gang, we get into the real cost of reacting in the heat of the moment. From pride and disrespect to fighting, walking away, and the pressure to “stand on business,” the crew asks a bigger question: What does real strength actually look like?
The Professor shares a personal story about a decision he made years ago that resulted in an arrest and consequences that still affect his life today. We also discuss how maturity changes the way we handle conflict, why walking away can feel like losing, and what we should be teaching the next generation about protecting their future instead of protecting their pride.
STOP. BREATHE. THINK.
Is it really worth the consequence? Then react.
