Mutually Beneficial Flourishing (Jeremiah 29, Daniel Ostendorff)
God's word to the Jewish exiles in Babylon was not what they expected. Rather than promising a quick rescue, He called them to settle in, build lives, and actively seek the shalom of the very city that had taken them captive. Shalom, the Hebrew word translated as welfare or peace, carries the meaning of wholeness, flourishing, and right relationships. That same call applies to Christians today. We are placed in our communities, our workplaces, and our cultural moment on purpose, and our mission is to pursue the well-being of the people around us. Our ultimate hope is not in any political candidate or party, but in Jesus Christ, the Prince of Shalom, who makes true flourishing possible for all of creation.

Outdoor Service: The Decision that Changes Everything (2 Cor 5:17-21, Daniel Ostendorff)
There is an ache that many people carry, a sense that something is missing, and the Bible points to a reason: we were made to know God, and sin has created a separation between us and Him. But God did not leave that separation unaddressed. Through Jesus Christ, He made full reconciliation possible, not a patch job, but a complete restoration. When anyone places their faith in Christ, they become a new creation. The old life is gone, not on hold, but truly gone. God credits the righteousness of His Son to those who believe, and His Spirit is given as a guarantee that the work He began will be completed. Every believer is then called to carry this message as an ambassador, sharing with others that they too can be reconciled to God.

Counter Cultural: The Anticipated Reunion (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Ryan Johnson)
The return of Jesus Christ is not a distant theological concept but a living hope that changes everything about how we face loss, hardship, and uncertainty. Drawing from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Paul addresses believers who were grieving the deaths of fellow Christians and reassures them that death for a believer is not the end. It is a waiting period before a glorious reunion. Because Jesus died and rose again, those who belong to Him will also rise. Christ will descend from heaven with a commanding shout, the voice of an archangel, and the trumpet of God, and every member of His family, both the living and the dead, will be gathered to meet Him. This is a hope worth sharing, especially with those who are grieving or who have never heard the Gospel.
