The church of Christ in Cortez, Florida is a group of Christians committed to following just the Bible in all that we say and do. Our goal is to be a local church like those found in the pages of the New Testament. Our collective worship and work reflect this focus.
Like those found in the pages of the New Testament, the Cortez church is completely independent of all other churches.

John the Baptist pointed his disciples to Jesus, saying, “Behold, the Lamb of God.” When they began following Jesus, the next step in their journey became a call: “Follow me.”
In Matthew 4, Jesus finds Peter and Andrew at work, casting their nets. He calls them to follow, promising to make them “fishers of men.” Then he calls James and John as they mend their nets. These were ordinary men, yet Jesus invited them into a life shaped by his presence and purpose.
Following Jesus means more than admiring him or agreeing with his teachings. It means trusting his direction, letting his words guide our choices, and placing his will above every competing loyalty. The disciples left their nets and responded. Jesus may not call us to leave our occupations, but he does call us to surrender anything that keeps us from obeying him.
He gives his followers a mission: to help others come to know him. We do not need to see the road ahead before we begin. We need to hear the call and take the next faithful step.
The Lamb who gave himself for us is worthy of our lives. Hear his invitation: “Follow me.”

Behold, the Lamb of God
Come and see… and then behold the Lamb. 🐑✝️
When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him, he said:
“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” — John 1:29
That title reaches back through the whole story of Scripture. Jesus is the Lamb God provided, the spotless sacrifice, the One who gave His life so that we could have life.
But John’s words were never meant to produce admiration alone. When two disciples heard him say, “Behold, the Lamb of God,” they followed Jesus.
That is the invitation for us too.
Come and see who Jesus is.
Behold what He came to do.
Then choose to follow Him.

Come & See
What are you really looking for?
In John 1:35–46, people searching for hope, truth, purpose, and direction encounter Jesus. Rather than demanding blind acceptance, Jesus offers a simple invitation: “Come and you will see.”
Andrew meets Jesus and immediately brings his brother Simon. Philip finds Nathanael, who responds with skepticism—but Philip does not argue with him. He simply says, “Come and see.”
That invitation still speaks to us today.
In this episode of Walking in the Light, we consider why everyone is searching for something, how Jesus knows us more deeply than anyone else, and why a personal encounter with Him can change the direction of our lives.
You do not need to have every answer before approaching Jesus. Bring your questions, doubts, disappointments, and hopes. Open the Gospel of John, examine His words, and discover for yourself who Jesus truly is.
