Couched in Chaos is where therapy, motherhood, and pop culture collide—sometimes loudly. Hosted by therapist moms Dr. Tiffany Smith and Dr. Trisha Marroquin, we mix real mental health insight with sarcasm, humor, and zero judgment. We talk celebrities, motherhood meltdowns, emotional survival, and answer listener questions—because life is messy and perfection is overrated.
Episode 23: Sibling Rivalry — Besties or WWE?
If your house sounds more like a wrestling match than a family sitcom, this episode is for YOU! Dr. Tiffany and Dr. Trisha are getting into the chaos of sibling rivalry, sharing therapist-approved tips to help your kids fight less, connect more, and maybe even become each other’s favorite humans (instead of sworn enemies over the last chicken nugget).
Then we take a darker turn with the Christa Pike case, exploring the true-crime story behind one of the most disturbing cases involving young adults. Plus, we answer listener questions and serve up our usual dose of therapist insight, mom-life reality, and sarcasm.
Because raising siblings who actually LIKE each other? That’s the dream. Surviving the backseat bickering until then? That’s parenting.
Tune in to Couched in Chaos — where sanity meets sarcasm and self-help gets real!

22: The Cornell University Sexual Assault Case, The Cornell 7 & Talking to Our Kids About Sexual Assault
Episode 22: The Cornell University Sexual Assault Case, The Cornell 7 & Talking to Our Kids About Sexual Assault
The Cornell University sexual assault case has sparked important conversations about sexual assault, consent, accountability, and how we educate young people about sexual violence. In Episode 22 of Couched in Chaos, Dr. Trisha and Dr. Tiffany take a closer look at the conversation surrounding the case and use it as a starting point for a much bigger question: How do we teach our kids—both our sons and our daughters—about sexual assault and prevention?
We’re talking about the Cornell 7, sexual assault awareness, consent, boundaries, healthy relationships, and the conversations parents need to be having with their children before they head off into the world on their own.
How do we teach our daughters to recognize unsafe situations and trust their instincts? And just as importantly, how do we teach our sons about consent, boundaries, respect, and being responsible for their own behavior?
We also discuss red flags for sexual exploitation, warning signs parents should know, and how to create an environment where teens and young adults feel safe coming to their parents with difficult questions or experiences.
Because sexual assault education isn't just a conversation for girls. Our sons need this education, too.
Join Dr. Trisha and Dr. Tiffany for an honest and sometimes uncomfortable conversation about the Cornell University sexual assault case, sexual assault awareness, parenting, prevention, and giving our kids the tools they need to navigate relationships and the world around them.

21: Bodies in Chaos: Because Apparently Our Bodies Have Their Own Plans
From puberty and teenage awkwardness to pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause… apparently, our bodies decided to keep things interesting.
Just when you finally figure out what your body is doing, it changes the rules.
In this episode of Couched in Chaos, we’re talking about boobs, periods, babies, hormones, gray hair, hot flashes, changing bodies, and all the What the Heck?? moments in between. Because being a woman is basically living in a body that keeps releasing surprise updates—with absolutely no user manual.
The body changes. The hormones change. The clothes stop fitting the way they used to. And somehow, we're all just supposed to act like this is normal. Come sit on the couch with us as we laugh, commiserate, and talk about the many versions of us hiding inside these ever-changing bodies.
