Coyote Conversations is a podcast series produced by Crescent students and hosted by Crescent Alumni. Each episode is a conversation with members of the Crescent community. From 'Boys of Promise to Men of Character', we reflect on their journey starting in the halls of Crescent.
Our guests will share insightful stories of their time at school and the impact classmates and staff had on their lives. The journey continues where we explore the diverse paths taken, challenges and perspectives learned. There are valuable lessons learned about creativity, perseverance, leadership, and community service from their stories of personal growth - successes, and failures.
Coyote conversations is hosted by Hessam Ghadaki Class of '99, General Counsel at https://timesgroup.ca (https://timesgroup.ca)

In this reflective episode, host Griffin Bush ’06 sits down with college basketball star and Crescent alumnus Xaivian Lee '22. From being part of the Princeton Tigers' historic Sweet 16 run to testing NBA Draft waters, playing at the University of Florida, and now transferring to Gonzaga University, Xaivian returns to his old hallways to reflect on how his foundation at Crescent shaped the athlete and person he is today.
Xaivian and Griffin discuss his growth from a 5'9" high schooler to an international athlete, the abrupt end to his high school career during COVID-19, and the quiet maturity required to handle modern collegiate sports. From navigating NIL opportunities, social media pressure, and sports betting noise to staying connected with the young students who look up to him, Xaivian offers an honest look at keeping a clear head as the spotlight grows.
Before making waves in NCAA basketball, Xaivian attended Crescent from Grade 7 through Grade 11. He went on to earn First-Team All-Ivy honours at Princeton, represent Team Canada on the world stage, and gain invaluable experience through NBA pre-draft workouts and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Summer League team.
This episode was hosted by Griffin Bush ’06 and made possible by Carson McGregor, Communications & Technology Faculty, and the Crescent Alumni Executive.

Episode 25: Catching up with Alan 'Doc' Atkinson
You might be familiar with Catching Up With, a regular feature in Past & Present, Crescent’s alumni magazine. It’s where one of our grads sits down with a retired teacher to reminisce, reflect, and share stories. These chats are always full of great moments, even if we only have space for a short article in the magazine.
In this episode, we’re sharing the unedited interview between Jonathan Geisler '80, and longtime Crescent staff member, Alan 'Doc' Atkinson, who worked at Crescent from 1975 - 1992. Doc was taught sciences and started the Crescent rugby program in spring of 1976.
We hope you enjoy this special edition of Coyote Conversations.
