E 43 Through the Forge - Finding God When Ministry Falls Apart - w/ Pastor Phillip Fields

Pastor Phillip Fields has spent more than four decades in ministry, but nothing prepared him for the crisis that struck the church he planted. After two young men from the congregation fought and one lost his life, grief and accusation spread through families, leadership, social media, and the wider church community. Phillip found himself exhausted, isolated, and questioning whether he had missed God.His turning point came during long walks to a cedar tree in the woods, where he brought his pain, reputation, and unanswered questions to God. There, he sensed a simple, life-giving reminder of his identity as a loved son—and learned that he was never meant to carry every person, repair every lie, or rescue a situation he could not control. In this honest conversation, Phillip shares how God used the fire instead of wasting it. The experience helped shape Forge 365, a discipleship and mentorship mission focused on young adults who are hungry for authentic relationships, community, and the real presence of God.Listen for a powerful testimony about surrender, healing, spiritual identity, and redemption after ministry trauma. E42 Between Surviving An Avalanche And A Dead Son, God Broke Through - The Mick Weinholt Story

In this powerful episode, Mick Wienholt — host of Coincidence or God — opens up about two life altering moments that shaped his faith. First, he recounts surviving a massive avalanche alone on a Colorado peak, waking up miraculously unburied and able to walk out despite severe injuries. At the time, he gave God only “intellectual credit,” still living far from any real relationship with Him. Years later, Mick and his wife faced unimaginable heartbreak when their full-term son, Luke, was found without a heartbeat just one week before his due date. Overwhelmed by grief in a hospital hallway, Mick cried out to the God he had spent years resisting — and God met him. That moment became the beginning of a transformed life, a restored marriage, and a faith that reshaped everything. Mick shares how God continued to guide him, even leading him through a season of unemployment to launch his testimony driven podcast. His story is raw, honest, and overflowing with evidence of God’s sovereignty, love, and pursuit. If this episode speaks to you, share it with someone who needs hope.
