Breathing Through the Storm: Ray Lugo's Journey From Near Drowning to Breathwork
Ray Lugo has had to start over more than once. He left Venezuela with his wife to build a safer life for their family in Canada, and he rebuilt himself from scratch. But underneath, he was carrying years of fear and emotion he had never let himself feel. A kidnapping in his early twenties left him with paranoia and nightmares, and for a long time he kept it all pushed down. Then, swimming in a lake, he nearly drowned. A few weeks later, everything he had been holding in broke open. That wasn't the turning point. It was the beginning. A second herniated disc compressed a nerve for over a year. The pain was constant, the answers didn't come, and Ray reached one of the darkest points of his life. Somewhere in that pain, he realized nobody was coming to save him. So he started searching. Wim Hof breathing, ice baths, and eventually a breathwork session that opened him up completely and released decades of stored trauma. When the bank he worked for laid off thousands of people, Ray had to decide what came next. Today he facilitates breathwork, coaches others, and still makes music. This is an honest conversation about the storms that don't stop coming, and about learning to feel calm inside them. In this episode, we explore: - How Ray carried the weight of a kidnapping for years - Starting over from scratch in a new country - How numbing out and staying busy kept the real storm hidden - The near drowning that cracked him open - Over a year of chronic pain and a system that kept saying wait - The moment he stopped waiting to be rescued - Wim Hof, ice baths, and the breathwork session that opened him up - Losing stability and choosing to build around what he loves - Why the storms never stop, and how to stay calm within them - Learning to love the life you already have Connect with Ray Breathwork Facilitator & Integration Coach Instagram: @thejourneyofthecrow Connect with Jeremy Instagram: @jerfink Podcast Instagram: @create_a_life_you_love_to_live If this conversation resonates with you, follow the show, share the episode with someone who needs to hear it, and leave a rating or review.

Becoming the Man His Family Needed: Markwell’s Journey From PTSD to Purpose
From the outside, Markwell appeared to have built a good life. He was a firefighter, a husband, a father of three, and someone others could depend on when things went wrong. But beneath that identity, he was struggling. After responding to the death of a young boy by suicide, Markwell began carrying trauma he didn’t understand and didn’t know how to process. It followed him home, showing up as anxiety, disconnection, destructive coping patterns, and behaviours that slowly damaged his relationship with himself, his wife, and his family. Everything changed when his wife told him she loved him, but could no longer continue living with the man he was becoming. The following morning, a fire broke out in their kitchen. His life was on fire, both figuratively and literally, and he could no longer avoid what was happening. In this episode, Markwell opens up about PTSD, addiction, marriage, fatherhood, psychedelics, meditation, breathwork, men’s work, and what it actually takes to integrate the lessons revealed through healing. We explore the guilt men often experience when they take time to work on themselves, why self-care can be an act of devotion to your family, and how our deepest wounds can eventually become the foundation of how we serve others. Markwell also shares how repairing his relationship with himself changed the way he showed up as a husband and father, ultimately leading him to help other men create more trust, connection, and intimacy within their own relationships. This is an honest conversation about facing the parts of yourself you’ve spent years avoiding, taking responsibility for the impact of your pain, and becoming the man your family needs you to be. In this episode, we explore: The hidden impact of trauma and PTSD How unresolved pain follows us into our closest relationships Markwell’s struggle with addiction and disconnection The moment his wife forced him to confront who he had become Psychedelics, breathwork, meditation, and integration The difference between sacrificing for your family and being devoted to them Repairing trust within a marriage Fatherhood, self-care, and breaking generational patterns Turning your deepest wounds into meaningful service Why creating a life you love begins with feelings before form Connect with Markwell Men’s Relationship Coach Instagram: @thatguymarkwell (https://www.instagram.com/thatguymarkwell/) Connect with Jeremy Instagram: @jerfink (https://www.instagram.com/jerfink/) Podcast Instagram: @create_a_life_you_love_to_live (https://www.instagram.com/create_a_life_you_love_to_live/) If this conversation resonates with you, follow the show, share the episode with someone who needs to hear it, and leave a rating or review.

From Shame to Living in Alignment with Bryan Henry
In this episode, I sit down with men’s coach and facilitator Bryan Henry for an honest conversation about shame, identity, purpose, and the inner work required to create a life that feels truly aligned. Bryan shares how walking away from university and the path toward becoming a doctor led him into one of the lowest periods of his life. Without structure or a clear sense of purpose, he became caught in cycles of instant gratification, numbing, and self-sabotage, while carrying the growing shame of knowing he was not living up to the person he believed he could become. A painful moment forced him to confront how he was showing up, and an unexpected opportunity in personal training became the beginning of a new direction. Through serving others, meditation, journaling, community, and years of looking inward, Bryan began to understand the deeper belief driving so much of his life: that he had to perform in order to feel worthy of love. Together, Jeremy and Bryan explore how our childhood experiences shape our identity, why changing your external circumstances is rarely enough, and how alignment is not a destination, but an ongoing process of returning to who you really are. This is a conversation for anyone who has ever felt stuck between the life they are living and the person they know they are capable of becoming. In this episode: The hidden shame behind unfulfilled potential Addiction, numbing, and instant gratification How performance became connected to Bryan’s self-worth Finding purpose through service and helping others transform Meditation, journaling, and community as tools for change Why transformation begins internally What it means to live in alignment From Shame to Living in Alignment is a powerful reminder that the life you want does not begin with changing everything around you. It begins with being willing to face yourself honestly. No One is Coming to Save You with Vincenzo Caputo
In this episode of Create a Life You Love to Live, I sit down with Vincenzo Caputo, founder of Live Your Journey 5D, for a raw and honest conversation about transformation, responsibility, breathwork, and what it really takes to change your life. Vince opens up about the version of himself he used to be: nearly 300 pounds, lost in addiction, depressed, working a job he hated, and living a life that looked fine from the outside but felt deeply numb on the inside. What began with podcasts, curiosity, and a float tank eventually led him into his first breathwork experience, a moment that cracked something open and allowed him to see the person he could become. From there, Vince’s journey became one of deep inner work, discipline, integration, spirituality, and learning how to heal without pretending to be someone else. This conversation is a reminder that discomfort is often where the breakthrough begins. No one is coming to save you. But that also means the power to rise, change, and create a life you love is already within you. Healing Through Vulnerability and Self-Discovery with Graeme Ford
In this episode of Create a Life You Love to Live, I sit down with Graeme Ford, therapist, men’s work facilitator, and founder of ManAligned. Graeme shares his raw and deeply honest story of growing up with childhood trauma, carrying years of emotional pain, and learning to survive through busyness, people-pleasing, alcohol, and avoidance. For a long time, he lived with a constant sense of unease without fully understanding where it came from or what it was trying to show him. Eventually, that pain became impossible to outrun. Graeme opens up about the moments that forced him to face himself more honestly, including the breakdown of his relationship, the fear of being alone, and a crisis point that led him to choose a different path. Through therapy, somatic work, men’s work, prayer, inner-child healing, and community, he began rebuilding his relationship with himself. This conversation explores what it really means to take responsibility for your healing without pretending you have to do it alone. We talk about emotional suppression, shame, masculine conditioning, comfort, discipline, self-trust, and the importance of having spaces where men can be seen without having to perform. Graeme also shares the deeper purpose behind ManAligned, a men’s work organization built around play, depth, and adventure, and why he believes healing is not about becoming someone new, but learning to meet yourself with more honesty, compassion, and love. If you’ve ever used busyness, achievement, validation, or numbing to avoid what you feel, this conversation will hit home. This is an episode about pain, responsibility, healing, and what becomes possible when you finally stop running from yourself.
