My desire is to create space for compelling and complex conversations from a Jesus-centered perspective. As a pastor, there are some subjects that I do not always have the capacity to address on a Sunday morning. This podcast will be an opportunity to create space for some of those subjects.
Please participate in the conversation and ask questions. As this community continues to grow, my hope is that many of the episodes will be shaped by your questions. No subject is off limits. Please e-mail all questions to scottlackey@newstorybuffalo.com.

Dr. Paul Eddy | What is a Christ-centered Sexual Ethic?
In this episode of Creating Space, Scott Lackey sits down with Dr. Paul Eddy to explore the history of the church and sexuality, beginning with the sexual ethic of the earliest Christians. Drawing from decades of pastoral ministry and academic study, Paul helps us consider what modern Christians may have missed, and how our conversations about sexuality can become more deeply centered on Jesus rather than legislation, cultural battles, or the idealization of marriage. Together, they discuss what it looks like to follow Jesus faithfully when we are struggling, and what a Christocentric sexual ethic might look like for the church in the 21st century.

Wayne Stapleton | The Church and Cross-cultural engagment
In this episode of Creating Space, Scott Lackey sits down with his friend Wayne Stapleton of the North American Baptists to explore a biblical vision for justice, reconciliation, and the kind of diverse community Jesus envisioned for his church. Together, they discuss why churches can become unintentionally monocultural and what we miss when we surround ourselves primarily with people who look, think, and live like us. Wayne shares from his experience in cross-cultural ministry about the work of listening, pursuing reconciliation, and learning to embrace difference without sacrificing our unity in Christ.
