Creatives who live their art deserve to be heard. This is the philosophy behind Creative Allies, a podcast from the V&A Waterfront Artist Alliance programme. Experienced creatives are invited to share their stories as a gesture of allyship to up-and-coming talent, lending their support and encouragement. Performers, poets, directors, designers and more give their advice on everything from finding funding and developing your practice to setting boundaries and handling tax as a freelancer. Hosted by Lerato Sokhulu and Carol Williams, and produced by the V&A Waterfront Artist Alliance in collaboration with 2Stories.
Bonus episode: Letters to our younger selves with Lerato Sokhulu and Carol Williams
In each of the previous episodes, we have asked the guests to write a letter to their younger selves and read it for our listeners. In this special bonus episode, we hear what the hosts of Creative Allies, Lerato Sokhulu and Carol Williams, would say to the past versions of themselves. In heartfelt and encouraging messages, Lerato and Carol give advice on how to weather challenges, celebrate the journey, and value rest in order to keep creating.
