Death by Inches: Emotional Baggage is a complete 34-episode horror audio drama told through the answering-machine messages of a man trapped alone in an isolated old mansion.
Ryan came to the house for a job. Then the storm arrived. The roads disappeared beneath floodwater and unnatural fog. Hidden rooms begin turning up in the attic. A mysterious trunk is surrounded by arcane symbols. Ryan wakes after missing stretches of time with disturbing evidence that something happened while he was gone.
And he may not be alone.
Part haunted-house story, part psychological horror, part occult mystery, Emotional Baggage combines Gothic horror, cosmic dread, analog-horror atmosphere and immersive sound design in a modern supernatural audio drama about guilt, memory and the things we can never quite escape.
Is the house haunted? Is Ryan losing his mind? Is something demonic or ancient reaching for him—or has his own past finally caught up with him?
The answers are there.
Originally created as an experimental serial unfolding across October toward Halloween, the complete story now runs 34 episodes and more than four hours.

Ghosts are bad. There are worse things.
It’s going to be a long Halloween.
This is it! The actual very end of the story! It's still Halloween night for poor Ryan, but maybe not for too much longer. Spoiler?: Yes, we see inside the trunk! If you haven't heard any of this story, then I urge you to start at episode one so it makes sense. This is the terrifying tale of a poor soul with a tragic past of his own making as he faces mind shattering horrors in an isolated old mansion. This experimental horror audio drama serial was partially scripted and partially improvised. It was initially meant as a challenge to create and release a chapter every day of October with the big finish on Halloween night- alas, illness and life complications got in my way --along with the fact that my vision of the tale began to take form in much longer episodes than I originally intended. This episode and all the others rely heavily on music and sound effects from freesound.org and it's generous audio artists. Imagery, video, and sound assets for various multimedia versions of Emotional Baggage utilized art and sound assets from pexels.com and pixabay.com as well. Thank you for listening! If you enjoyed this, please let me know! Share and spread the word and maybe I'll make more! ;)

DBI - Emotional Baggage - Part 33
Better late than never! It's still Halloween night for Ryan as he struggles alone in the dark, trapped with an unearthly horror! This horror audio drama series started as an experiment where I would try to create an episode every day of October and end the story on Halloween night. Well, I slipped behind due to illness but I'm still pushing forward! This is the second to last episode! Next one is the finale. It's all recorded. I'm just working on sound effects and mixing at present. This episode (as well as previous ones) uses art and sound assets from freesound.org, pixabay.com, and pexels.com.

DBI - Emotional Baggage - Part 32
Episode 32 is here! And It's NOT the last episode! This show was supposed to have one episode for every day of October, with an ending on Halloween. Well, for our protagonist Ryan, it's STILL Halloween for awhile longer. My illness just derailed me too much to get it all done on time. Since I've been so far behind, AND since the last episode was looking to be of ENORMOUS length, I decided to release it in smaller chunks rather than make everyone wait. If you're new to this horror audio drama, you should really start at the first episode or it's going to be tough to follow. It's a serial about a tragic dupe all alone in a haunted hellhole. This is a partially scripted and partially improvised show. Many sound assets were used from freesound.org. Other audio & image assets came from pexels.com, and pixabay.com.
