S2 EP 002 | Beginning Before You're Sure ft. Aundre Larrow
Welcome back to Creatively Opposed, a podcast where first-generation creatives share the stories behind their work and the experiences that shaped who they became. I'm your host, Teneka King, and today I'm joined by photographer, filmmaker, and educator Aundre Larrow, whose work has been commissioned by brands including Google, Adidas, Spotify, The New York Times, WhatsApp, American Express, and REI. In this conversation, Aundre reflects on growing up in a Jamaican immigrant family, the mentors who helped shape his creative journey, and why some of the most meaningful work comes from curiosity rather than certainty. We talk about embracing experimentation, challenging the pressure to follow a linear path, the importance of representation, and why, sometimes, the most beautiful things are simply the result of trying something before you know exactly where it will lead.
