Text: Romans 16:5b-6
Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia to Christ. 6 Greet Mary, who labored much for us.
All the family of God bear a resemblance to one another because we have all been born again of the same Father. Today we consider 3 characteristics of the heavenly family that Paul points out in verses 5-6: they are all 1) beloved; 2) firstfruits to God; 3) those who labor for the LORD.
Join us today as Pastor Jonathan explains why we are beloved, what it means to be a "firstfruits", and what it looks like to labor for the LORD. You may be surprised by what God takes notice of and honors as the labors of His children. Do you see yourself in this family portrait?

The Church in their House
Text: Romans 16:3-5a
3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, 4 who risked their own necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. 5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house.
In verse 5, Paul makes a comment about the church "in their house", which brings up some interesting questions with regard to the nature of the church and how we ought to gather as churches today. Is the way we gather for church today based on the tradition of men or is it rooted in the Word of God? Is the model we see in the New Testament where believers gathered in private homes prescriptive for today or just descriptive? What is required for a church to be a biblical church? Is it enough for a few believers to gather and discuss the Bible together or is something more required in order to be a biblical church?
Join us today as Pastor Jonathan delves into these questions and others as he seeks to provide answers from Scripture about how we should meet as the church today.

Greet the Family!
Text: Romans 16:3-4
3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, 4 who risked their own necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.
Reading through Paul's closing greetings to the saints at Rome might remind you of reading a genealogy and may leave you with the question: what does the Lord want me to learn from this? We need to remember that ALL Scripture is "God-breathed and is profitable for instruction", and that includes this list of names! Join us today as Pastor Jonathan provides 1) several general observations about the family Paul addresses in verses 3-16, as well as 2) some specific observations about Priscilla and Aquila, which have direct application to our lives today.
