13 Years, 11 Bodies… The Arrest of the Gilgo Beach Serial Killer
<p>On July 13, 2023, authorities arrested Rex Heuermann, a 59-year-old architect from Massapequa Park, in connection with the infamous Gilgo Beach murders that haunted investigators for more than a decade.</p><p>The case first gained national attention after the 2010 disappearance of Shannan Gilbert, which led police to uncover multiple sets of human remains along Ocean Parkway near Gilgo Beach on Long Island.Among those discovered were the victims known as the “Gilgo Four” — four women in their 20s who worked as escorts and advertised on Craigslist.
