[…] A detective from the Augusta police attends the autopsy. Paul was viciously killed. He has multiple rib fractures in the front and back. His liver has been lacerated. His aorta has been torn. He has four additional stab wounds and his right lung has been punctured. That's anger, rage. You don't rob a guy and do all of that to him. You do all of that to a guy to send a message to him, to make him suffer. Back at the crime scene, they come up with several pieces of what they presume to be a walking cane. So it appears, at least right now, that somebody had beaten Paul to death with a cane and also stabbed the guy with that same cane. […]
