Ein "Premium" Autohersteller verkauft ein Auto, die Sitzheizung kostet extra -- allerdings nicht für deren Einbau einmalig, sondern monatlich, als Abomodell. Vielen Leuten ist dieses Konzept sauer aufgestoßen und mittlerweile wurde der Testballon auch wieder eingestampft. Das Schema sehen wir aber an vielen Stellen der Software heutzutage: Eine Lizenz wird nicht einmalig erworben sondern muss immer wieder verlängert werden. Software wird nicht mehr gekauft, sondern nur noch gemietet. Warum ist das aus Cybersecurity-Sicht problematisch und was ist Eigentum im digitalen Zeitalter überhaupt?

Die US-Regierung hat im März 2026 beschlossen, dass nur noch heimisch produzierte Internet-Router in den USA in den Verkehr gebracht werden dürfen. Als Grund wird eine Stärkung der Cybersecurity angeführt. Reinhold und Johannes diskutieren in dieser Folge darüber, was es eigentlich bedeutet, ein "USA-Router" herzustellen und wo die Grenzen und Sinnhaftigkeit dieser Maßnahme liegen.
