   Ts & Ps 🙏🏾

Getting into the mess, the state of the U.S. & taking all the thoughts and prayers. SHOW NOTES We Recommend Cherika is bringing the wisdom with KevonStage's latest book "Successful Failure" and his conversation on the "Let's Try This Again" podcast with B. Simone. It's all about how your biggest mess-ups can be the path to your biggest blessings. Sabrina is getting into some real true-crime with not one, but two podcasts for you. There's "Scamanda" podcast and Hulu documentary about a woman who faked cancer to scam her community, and "Unicorn Girl," about a woman who seemed to have a perfect life but was actually a master of deception. And finally, EB has a couple of powerful picks for the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina: the National Geographic documentary "Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time" and Spike Lee’s follow-up documentary, "If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don’t Rise." Sweet Tea & Drama: Our Take on Sweet Magnolias

Show Notes This week on Da Kickback, we’re trading in the chaos for some calm (well, sort of) as we dive deep into Netflix’s southern comfort series Sweet Magnolias. From Maddie's mama bear moments to Dana Sue's kitchen therapy and Helen's endless love triangle, we break down the big themes, messy relationships, and those small-town secrets that keep Serenity anything but peaceful. 💬 Is it giving Hallmark vibes or hiding something deeper?❤️ Who’s growing, who’s stuck, and who needs to go sit down somewhere?🍷 And yes, we’re spilling tea and margaritas. Whether you're a longtime fan or a curious newcomer, tune in as we unpack the sweetness and the spice of Sweet Magnolias—Kickback style. 🕺 Tap in, laugh with us, and don’t forget: bring your feelings to the porch. We Recommend Humans of New York: Tanqueray Amazon.com: Tanqueray: 9781250278272: Stanton, Brandon, Johnson, Stephanie: Books Real, raw, and unapologetically honest, this is the full story of Tanqueray as told by Brandon Stanton―a book filled with never-before-told stories of Tanqueray's struggles and triumphs through good times and bad, personal photos from her own collection, and glimpses of New York City from back in the day when the name “Tanqueray” was on everyone’s lips. Forever FOREVER | Official Trailer | Netflix Reunited as teens, two childhood friends fall deeply in love, experiencing the joy and heartache of a first romance that will change their lives forever. Train Wreck Trainwreck: Poop Cruise | Official Trailer | Netflix An engine fire leaves 4,000 passengers stranded at sea without power and plumbing in this wild documentary about the infamous "poop cruise" of 2013.

Praying Over You with an A not an E 👀

EB will give good vibes & words of encouragement for 25k. 🤷🏿♂️ SHOW NOTES We Recommend This month our recommendations are a blend of personal safety, dramatic storytelling, and supporting black businesses. Sabrina offers "Bo Society & Books" which promotes personal growth and empowerment through a range of Christian books and an optional membership program. She also recommends "The Gift of Fear," a book offering insights into intuition and self-protection. For screen time, Cherika suggests the film "Sinners". EB came through with two Netflix series: "Sweet Magnolias" a heartwarming story of female friendship and life in a small Southern town, and "Ransom Canyon" a romantic Western saga centered on ranching families and their struggles in Texas. Cowboy Carter must have EB in a country mood. Check it all out below!
