This week we are talking about the history of southern food in a fun way. &nbsp;&nbsp;Fun Fact: Okra, watermelon, and coffee beans ALL CAME FROM AFRICA &nbsp;We used to grow and eat watermelon in the fields to keep ourselves from fainting. &nbsp;&nbsp;Africans have always bonded through food. Although slavery is a tragic part of our history, the least we can do is honor our ancestors by learning their stories. Everything that we have been through made us who we are today. &nbsp;&nbsp;We carry on a lot of traditions to this day that started with our ancestors and we don’t even know it. The more you learn about them the more you learn about yourself.
