The Devil Next Door - Ed Gein, Dahmer & the Faces We Trust - Daddy Knows The Devil EPS #24

The Devil's Recap What if the person you should fear most is the person who never gives you a reason to fear them? In this episode of Daddy Knows The Devil, Goldy Locks and her father, veteran parole officer Henry Peter, dig into the uncomfortable reality that some of the most dangerous people in history didn’t always look threatening. They looked ordinary. They lived in neighborhoods, walked into stores, spoke to strangers, and existed among people who had no idea what was happening behind closed doors. Using the disturbing cases of Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer as part of the conversation, Goldy and Henry examine how isolation, obsession, distorted thinking, and increasingly abnormal behavior can develop while the outside world sees something completely different. Henry brings decades of experience working inside the criminal justice system to a conversation that goes far beyond famous names and horrific crimes. What behaviors should make us pay closer attention? Why do people sometimes explain away something that feels wrong? And in a world where so many of us are staring at screens, wearing headphones, and moving through life distracted, are we becoming less aware of the people and situations around us? Goldy also asks the question that makes this episode hit much closer to home: How many times have we crossed paths with someone dangerous and never known it? This isn't about living afraid of everyone around you. It's about paying attention. Watching patterns. Asking questions. Listening when your instincts tell you something doesn't add up. Because evil doesn't always announce itself. Sometimes it just looks like the guy next door. The Devil's Details • Ed Gein, Jeffrey Dahmer, and the disturbing psychology behind their behavior • How dangerous people can appear completely ordinary to those around them • Isolation, obsession and behavioral patterns that can signal something deeper • Henry's perspective from decades working inside the criminal justice system • Why technology and distraction may be making us less aware of our surroundings • Recognizing red flags without becoming paranoid or fearful • Trusting your instincts when something simply doesn't feel right • Practical ways to become more observant in everyday life Sound Bites "His entire world was his mother." "He needed someone to sit with him." "Question what you might be missing."
